2003 Hummer H2 Outstanding Condition on 2040-cars

US $18,995.00
Year:2003 Mileage:54280 Color: appearance items and stereo head unit
Location:

Deerfield, Illinois, United States

Deerfield, Illinois, United States

If you've been looking for the "right" H2- one that hasn't been heavily modified or changed, one that has been meticulously cared for and always dealer maintained, one that is immaculate top to bottom and needs nothing, mine is worth your time to check out.

Here are some details:
-54,280 original miles. Stored winters, always used as a third vehicle.

Incredibly clean inside and out, detailed engine, clean under wheel wells.
-Never in any accident, 100% original paint and bodywork. No rust, never off road.
-All maintenance done at a GM dealer, with 1/2" thick folder of all receipts to verify. Weil Hummer Cadillac in Libertyville, IL knows this H2. No leaks.
-Passed last emissions test.
-Recent BF Goodrich AT tires with only 900 miles on them
-New battery
-Drives perfectly straight and true, no issues or problems. Original transmission works smoothly as it should, no issues. All lights and controls work.
       -Clean/clear title in my name.

This Hummer is not like the others available. Most H2 sellers try to impress with a list of modifications and personalized aftermarket items (bling). This H2 is different, and has had minimal changes from original- I believe the condition and maintenance history is impressive, and much more important than bolt on modifications. I have  1/2" thick folder of dealer maintenance since 2003. There are zero mechanical or suspension changes ever done to this H2, only a few exterior appearance items and stereo head unit.
-Manik step tubes
-Front black grille guard and tail light guards.
-Polished stock wheels
-Recent Kenwood DDX419 touch screen head unit
-Included: third row jump seat-not installed, inside spare tire mount not installed, new car cover, extra new carpet mat set, chrome tail light guards- not installed, original H2 brochure, stock head unit, more.

This H2 drives and rides as sweetly and tightly as you'd expect from the low mileage and great maintenance. It's quiet and doesn't have the looseness that high mile H2's develop from wear. If this H2 is kept and maintained as it clearly has been it's whole life, it should easily have another 100,000 miles in it based on comparables currently for sale. Nothing used is absolutely perfect, and there are some minor flaws from use. There are touched up door edge chips, a dented step tube bottom, the black rear bumper cover shows scratches and marks from chrome Hummer inset letter removal. I welcome any buyer inspections and test drives, and would love the opportunity to show this gorgeous H2 to you. Please contact me at (847) 945-7627 to discuss details. You will look a long time to find an H2 in better condition or as well maintained- hope the next owner is in the Midwest and come drive it home.

Deposit of $500 due after purchase, transaction completion must be in 7 days of listing end. Will work with you on shipping or buyer pickup.

SEMA 2010: Zero South Biodiesel Electric Hummer shows its guts

Zero South, a company that popped up at SEMA in 2008, is back again with its Biodiesel Electric Hummer. The heavily modified H1 rides on tracks at all four corners - a necessary modification, since this Hummer is designed for an expedition to the South Pole.
The trip is going to be documented by Chris Paine, who's best known for the film Who Killed the Electric Car? It was reported back in 2008 that the vehicle was going to be driven by Buzz Aldrin and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. The film is called Drive Around the World and was shot in 3D. Drive Around the World is also the name of an organization that works to inspire an urge to explore while raising money for various charities. The H1 shown above is Zero South's vehicle for participating in these expeditions.

AM General to offer civilian Humvee kit car

Thu, 02 Aug 2012

For anyone feeling nostalgic about the passing of the Hummer brand, or the actual wartime vehicle that inspired it, now is your chance to own a version of the original HMMWV, albeit without an engine.
After a 12-year hiatus from the civilian vehicle market, AM General is reportedly set to offer a kit-car of the C-Series Humvee. The kit will conform to U.S. government regulations and has been made possible by a deal with General Motors.
The kit costs $59,000 - and you still need an engine. A likely favorite would be a Duramax Diesel V8 and Allison transmission combination, as was found on the H1 Alpha. AM General estimates that an owner could buy the kit Humvee and outfit a powerplant and transmission for $75,000. Not bad, considering that H1 Alpha has an MSRP of $140,000 in 2005.

Turn Out the Lights: Final Hummer H3 rolls off the line... for Avis

2010 Hummer H3 - Click above for high-res image gallery
Would the last one out the door please switch off the lights? The long strange trip that has been the Hummer brand is just about over for General Motors. The final ever production H3 rolled out of GM's Shreveport, Louisiana factory on Monday May 24, 2010 on its way to an Avis rental car outlet. As you may recall, GM had actually stopped assembling H3s in mid-2009 as it went through bankruptcy, but it resumed production recently in order to fill an 849 unit special order.
GM tried to sell the Hummer brand to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co., Ltd but the deal ultimately fell apart last February. A subsequent offer from Raser Technologies also went nowhere. Now that production has ceased, 200 of the 900 remaining employees at Shreveport will be laid off by July and the rest of the Hummer staff back at headquarters in Detroit is either leaving or being reassigned.
