For sale is my 1993 Hummer H1 convertible. I have had the hummer for the past two years. When I bought the hummer it had new paint with no visible scratches, dents, dings, or rust. The inside is great with no tears on the seats or the center vinyl console. I have never taken the hummer off road in the two years that it has been in my possession. The hummer has only seen highway miles at 55-60 mph speeds. The air conditioner does not work. I have not had it checked to see if it just needs freon or something more. The heater works just fine. The tires look to be in good shape with lots of tread on them. The hummer had 14,500 miles on it when I bought it. The rest of the 8000 miles were the miles I put on it driving it on the highway. I am not a mechanic but the motor and undercarriage look fine to me. Nothing visible to be dangling or broken. I have changed the oil and oil filter every 3000 miles, greased all of the fittings, and added a K&N air filter to the hummer. With every fill-up I have added Lucas fuel injector cleaner to help with fuel economy. (Around 12 mph on highway). I have all three of the manuals, parts and service manuals, which will come with the sale. I also have new six sided hex nuts and bolts to replace the stock five sided nuts on the wheels. (the five sided socket was way overpriced). I also have the factory tan bed cover if you prefer the pickup truck look instead of the enclosed bed cover look in the pictures. I also added a new Luverne brush guard to the hummer, which can be seen in the pictures. The hummer looks an runs great. For the past two years that the Hummer has been in my possession it has been Garage Kept in my Climate Controlled Garage, (Heated and Air-Conditioned).  Shipping is the buyers responsibility, but I can assist with the loading of the vehicle. Good luck with bidding, and enjoy this great hummer!

I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL.

NO TRADES.

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME DUE TO THE ITEM SELLING LOCALLY.

THE MILEAGE MAY CHANGE DUE TO ALLOWING TEST DRIVES FROM POTENTIAL BUYERS.

THE HUMMER IS BEING SOLD AS IS WHERE IS.

Hummers are for Horses: Artist reimagines the monsterous SUV [w/video]

Horse-drawn Hummer H2 - Click above to view the video after the jump
When the internal combustion engine finally helped the automobile pass the horse-drawn carriage as the chosen method of transportation for a majority of citizens in the United States, that a step in the right direction. Right? Moving forward about a hundred years... when the behemoth Sport Utility Vehicle that never actually seems to venture off the beaten path passed the minivan in the hearts and minds of families across the country as the people-mover of choice, was that a step in the right direction?
If you answered no to either of the above questions, perhaps you'll enjoy the video pasted after the break. Created by artist Jeremy Dean (read about our initial post on the project here), the converted Hummer H2 is called Futurama and is pulled by two white horses named, appropriately enough, Duke and Diesel. Hummers are for horses? See for yourself.

Report: GM temporarily restarts Saturn Outlook, Hummer H3 production

Saturn Outlook - Click above for high-res image gallery
Even though both the Saturn and Hummer brands are being phased out, General Motors has reportedly revived production of both the Outlook crossover and H3 SUV to meet consumer demands.
Last month, GM assembled 1,037 Outlooks at its Lansing, Michigan facility, which is where the crossover's Lamda platform stablemates (Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia) are built. A spokesperson for GM states that production was reinstated to utilize the rest of the Saturn-specific material at the facility, and that the automaker will continue to assemble the Outlook for a few more weeks.

Humvee reborn on the battlefield... with a chimney?!

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

The military's High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), better known to most of us as the Humvee, has already served a long and distinguished career in the battlefield, and there have been a number of replacements waiting in the wings to take over where the HMMWV left off. Or, should we say, leaves off... assuming that ever happens.
It seems that the Humvee is set to get a new lease on life as military budget constraints are forcing the government to reconsider its replacement. But there are still some pesky safety issues to work out before American soldiers will feel comfortable inside the confines of the off-road box on wheels.
As you're likely aware, improvised explosive devices are an ever-increasing threat to the lives of American troops serving overseas. The Humvee, which traces its design all the way back to the year 1984 when it first saw duty as a replacement for the long-running series of military Jeeps, has seen a number of incarnations over the years that added armor and improved safety, but the latest version may feature something hitherto unseen: a chimney.
