VERY RARE (1 of 1) FASTBACK CALIFORNIA CAR

1968 FORD TORINO GT
FASTBACK COUPE

FACTORY 390 V-8 4BL AUTOMATIC

This is a Beautiful, Very Rare Fastback Torino GT in Raven Black with the Reflective Gold C-Stripe, black interior with Bucket Seats and Center Console, that I have lovingly owned and cared for, for nearly 9 years. The Marty Report, states this car is a "One of One" California Car. It is Number's Matching, and has the factory original (untouched) 325 Hp 390cid 4V HiPo V-8 Engine with a C-6 Automatic Transmission that was rebuilt about 10,500 miles ago. This 45 year old car has only 107,000 original miles (2400 miles) per year, and in the 9 years since I've owned it. It's only been driven less than 4,000 miles (445 miles) per year. I bought this car from it's 3rd owner who nearly restored the car. The front and rear window moldings were replaced. This car came equipped with Factory Air Conditioning, but somewhere along the line it was removed, why? I don't know, but I have all the missing parts, including the hardware and brackets. The original wheels, caps, and rings have been restored, it has a new 4 Core Radiator using the original Tanks. It has a Flowmaster Aluminum Dual Exhaust System with Two 3 Chamber Flowmaster's hung just like Factory, no holes were drilled into the floors. I had the entire front suspension replaced 2 weeks after I bought it, including new ball joints, upper and lower shaft bushings, wheel bearings, both front springs, and steering linkage, the 2 front Park and Turn Signal Lens. Recently I have replaced the Power Brake Booster, Brakes Pads, Rotors, Power Steering Pump and hoses. Pertronix Point Set and Coil for more reliable starts. Runs great!

This car comes with a lot of documentation, such as the Full Deluxe and Framed Marty Report, the original Owner's Manual with the original owners name hand written by him on the in side cover, and Warranty Booklet, DMV Registrations from previous owners, Receipts, Work Orders, Production Numbers, Invoices for Parts, Original Magazine Add from 1968 with the exact same image as this car, etc…

This car is a Multiple Antique Show Winner including a "Peoples Choice Award", an all Ford "Best in Show", and an "AACA National 3rd Junior".

2015 Ford Mustang gets pricing, configurator and less weight than expected

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

It's here; it's finally here. No more speculating or looking at dealer order guides, the configurator for the 2015 Ford Mustang is finally online. That means you should put down whatever you're doing and build your new 'Stang. Weight data for the new model has also leaked out, and while there is an increase, it's less than previously rumored.
The basic V6 coupe carries a base price of $23,600, plus an additional $825 destination charge for all models. Upgrading to the 2.3-liter Ecoboost costs $25,170, and the Ecoboost Premium is $29,170. If you need a V8 in your life, the Mustang GT is $32,100 or $36,100 with the Premium package. That puts the starting price up about $1,000 over the previous generation for the V6, but the turbocharged four-cylinder starts about $1,400 less than the V6 Premium, which is no longer available. Prices for both V8 models jumped about $1,000, as well.
If you need the convertible Mustang, the V6 starts at $29,100, excluding destination, $1,590 more than last year. The Ecoboost Premium 'vert is $34,670, and the GT droptop is $41,600.

U.S. automakers unite in opposition to possible Trump vehicle tariffs

Mon, Feb 18 2019

WASHINGTON — The U.S. auto industry urged President Donald Trump's administration on Monday not to saddle imported cars and auto parts with steep tariffs, after the U.S. Commerce Department sent a confidential report to the White House late on Sunday with its recommendations for how to proceed. Some trade organizations also blasted the Commerce Department for keeping the details of its "Section 232" national security report shrouded in secrecy, which will make it much harder for the industry to react during the next 90 days Trump will have to review it. "Secrecy around the report only increases the uncertainty and concern across the industry created by the threat of tariffs," the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association said in a statement, adding that it was "alarmed and dismayed." "It is critical that our industry have the opportunity to review the recommendations and advise the White House on how proposed tariffs, if they are recommended, will put jobs at risk, impact consumers, and trigger a reduction in U.S. investments that could set us back decades." Representatives from the White House and the Commerce Department could not immediately be reached. The industry has warned that possible tariffs of up to 25 percent on millions of imported cars and parts would add thousands of dollars to vehicle costs and potentially devastate the U.S economy by slashing jobs. Administration officials have said tariff threats on autos are a way to win concessions from Japan and the EU. Last year, Trump agreed not to impose tariffs as long as talks with the two trading partners were proceeding in a productive manner. "We believe the imposition of higher import tariffs on automotive products under Section 232 and the likely retaliatory tariffs against U.S. auto exports would undermine - and not help - the economic and employment contributions that FCA, US, Ford Motor Company and General Motors make to the U.S. economy," said former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt, the president of the American Automotive Policy Council. Some Republican lawmakers have also said they share the industry's concerns. In a statement issued on Monday, Republican Congresswoman Jackie Walorski said she fears the Commerce Department's report could "set the stage for costly tariffs on cars and auto parts." "President Trump is right to seek a level playing field for American businesses and workers, but the best way to do that is with a scalpel, not an axe," she added.

Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy

Tue, 07 May 2013

With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.
