HISTORY:
This clear title, turn-key T-Bird was manufactured in Windsor, Canada and purchased by Will Murray a car collector of over 25 vehicles in Spokane, WA.  The T-Bird was kept in a climate controlled warehouse and meticulously maintained and used as a daily driver.  He later transitioned to driving the T-Bird only to car shows local to the Washington area.  Before I purchased I asked the owner, Will Murray, to send me a brief history of the car, this is the info he emailed me:

"This Thunderbird was built in Canada and sold to a woman near Calgary, Alberta in 1988.  It was her car.  They had a luxury home on the Spokane River outlet from Coeur d'Alene Lake, above the Post Falls dam. (The river is backed up here to provide boat access to Lake Coeur d'Alene. I found the Thunderbord on Auto trader classics when it was advertised as a "rare thunderbird Sport model with 5.0 V8 and extremely low mileage." I followed up to take a look at the car.  It was in their garage with a cover on it. I test drove it, it performed great and drove it to Spokane the same day." The car is beautiful inside and out, with approximately 40,000 miles since new, (60,000 km), It looks and drives out like a nearly new car.  I have had the car to several car shows.  One of which it took first place for the Thundrbird division.  At age 75, I have decided to reduce my car collection and get out of my warehouse lease next year."

All guages, odometers and  lights function. This T-Bird drives very smooth with an air suspension type feel, smooth yet powerful acceleration with great handling.
A blast from the past this multiple show winning T-Bird is a piece of Ford and NASCAR racing history (google search: 1988 thunderbird racing) and truly holds its own as a respectable classic and daily driver, the best of both worlds!
Almost impossible to find a 1988 Ford T-Bird Sports Coupe with low miles in this condition! My goal is to provide as much information as I can about the car.  I have sold several top-notch classics on ebay and the caliber and quality of this classic holds its own and sure to make another very satisfied buyer!

Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.

2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

You might not be interested in owning a subcompact (B-segment) hatchback for $20,000. Let's be clear from the get go here: there are any number of reasonable arguments for staying away from the highest-content versions of these small cars. Ford's player in the B-segment arena is the newly updated 2014 Fiesta, and the Titanium trim represents the most luxurious instantiation of the model. We recently were loaned a Fiesta Titanium for a week, whose final sticker price hit $20,390, with navigation being the only standalone option added to the bottom line. By way of comparison, the most basic version of the all new, one-segment-up Mazda3 hatchback costs $19,740 with delivery and destination accounted for, and no options added on.
Hold on to that thought for a moment, we'll get back to it.

Project Ugly Horse: Part VIII

Fri, 17 May 2013

Now With More EcoBoost
There's an EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in there somewhere, and it's headed straight for Ugly Horse.
For the second time in my life, I'm staring at an engine in the back of a truck with no concept of how to get it safely into the garage by my lonesome. The first time this happened, I dragged home a $300 International 345 V8 in the back of my Scout Terra only to discover that the bounds of my manliness terminated well before my ability to muscle that 800-pound cast iron block out of the pickup bed.
