1956 Ford Thunderbird, 312 V8, 3 Speed Manual transmission with Overdrive, Power Steering, Power Seat.
This T Bird came out of California after a 25+ year hibernation, it was painted a Metal Flake Green back in the 60s and got a few minor custom touches like the Crown Vic Headlight rings and custom interior touches. I went through and made the car a driver, replacing the Brake hydraulics, Fuel system components and miscellaneous worn or bad components. The car runs and drives good, the Overdrive works excellent, the car rides a bit rough due to its Lowered Stance, and the motor smokes on start up, it needs a set of new Valve guides or seals to fix that.
The T bird has an extremely rare set of Magnesium American Racing wheels, I will give the high bidder the opportunity to take $2500 off the final purchase price if I keep the wheels and tires. I have a set of steel painted wheels that match the car that could be put on for transit, but do need new tires before use.
The body is very solid with just one spot of rust in the right rear quarter, it was however hit in the nose at some time in its life and there is bondo in the nose of the car. It is a very solid body but has its share of bumps and bruises.
The interior is clean and useable with new carpet in the factory color, the seat is a power seat but is not hooked u at this time and I do not know if it works or not.
For the most part everything works on the car, the only non functioning items I can think of are the Fuel gauge and the radio.
The last time I took the car out a few weeks ago , the radiator developed a small pin hole that needs to be fixed.
This car gets more looks everywhere it goes than anything else, it is a real head turner. you don't see T Birds like this out there, they are either restored stock or basket cases, this is a car you can get in and drive and have fun with and get tons of attention. It could use a bit of TLC but is a great Period Correct mild custom and has not really been changed.
Please call Chip @ 503-320-7391 with further questions and I can email interested parties a lot more detail pictures I have of the car upon request.
Thanks for looking!

Facelifted Ford Focus caught testing in the cold
Wed, 18 Dec 2013It's that time in the life of the Ford Focus to get a little work done - a nip-tuck here, some Botox there. Yes, Ford is testing a facelifted version of its global C-segment entry, which first hit markets in Europe and North America in May 2011.
Like the touchup on the Fiesta, expect Ford's gaping grille to make its first appearance on the Focus. Our spy photographers point out that this is likely to be a more comprehensive makeover than previous spy shots suggested, based on the additional camouflage seen here on the front and rear ends of this five-door model. New head and taillights are also likely in order, as are changes to the front and rear fascia.
The interior was also snapped and features a cleaner design with a larger central display. Other than that, it looks like some buttons have been changed, making us think most of the Focus' updates are limited to the exterior.
Autocar pits Formula Ford against Germany's finest
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Ford has quite the racing pedigree, but usually, its racers are relegated to the track. Not the new Formula Ford EcoBoost, though. It's a turbocharged, open-wheeled racer complete with a 200-horsepower, 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine... and it's legal on the roads of the UK.
That's stressed in this video from Autocar, with the mag going so far as to show the car's tax disc and license plates. Being a road-legal offering, it's tempting to see just how well an open-wheeler that delivers racecar-like performance while also netting over 100 miles per gallon (assume this is on the British cycle, for obvious reasons) stacks up against modern performance cars.
Autocar lined up the Formula Ford against an Audi R8 V10, a BMW M6 Gran Coupe and a Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG in a number of situations to see which would come out on top. Take a look below for the full video.
All eyes on Detroit as automakers prepare for slow, careful reopening of plants
Thu, May 14 2020DETROIT — The U.S. factories that make Fords, Chevys and Jeeps are coming back to life this week as workers install new safety equipment and wake up machines ahead of the high-stakes restart the Detroit automakers plan to launch on Monday. Ford, General Motors and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles all plan to reopen North American factories on May 18. The reopening of the U.S. auto sector will be a closely watched test of whether workers across a range of industries can return to factories in large numbers without a resurgence of COVID-19 infections. How well the automakers do will be significant for the U.S. economy, as nearly 1 million workers are employed in the sector. Executives at Ford and GM said separately this week the companies have not recorded any cases of COVID-19 transmission in plants outside the United States since adopting new safety protocols. Those procedures include mandatory face masks, separation of workers on assembly lines, frequent cleaning of work areas and requirements that workers pass through temperature monitors and report any symptoms before entering a plant. The Detroit Three have taken unprecedented steps to share information about coronavirus safety practices and develop a common set of workplace standards for their restarts, working with the United Auto Workers union, executives said. "We thought it was critical that we did it together," Ford manufacturing and labor chief Gary Johnson told Reuters. "We've never done this as an industry." The Detroit automakers will restart U.S. plants without regular testing of workers, because they do not have access to sufficient testing capacity, executives and UAW officials said. They will test workers who report COVID-19 symptoms or have fevers discovered by temperature scanners installed at factory entrances. "We have to continue to push for this testing," United Auto Workers union Vice President Cindy Estrada told Reuters on Wednesday. "Unless we have testing weekly to keep sick people out of the plant there is always a risk." Adopting new safety practices is just part of the work the companies must do to reopen after an extraordinary shutdown that has lasted two months. Â Wave zero At Ford, workers going in to ready factories are part of what Chief Operating Officer Jim Farley calls "wave zero." The work of wave zero employees "is really important for success of the startup," he said in an interview.
