1955 Ford Thunderbird Base Convertible 2-door 4.8l on 2040-cars
Citronelle, Alabama, United States
I purchased this car from an antique car dealership in Denver Colorado about 2 years ago. Iíve put less than 300 miles on it since purchased. Iím 6í3, and 300 plus lbs. which is too much man for this car!!! Iíve decided to sell to fund other projects. Car has been garage kept since purchased. It remains in excellent condition both inside and out with very few flaws. Since purchasing the car Iíve rebuilt the starter, changed back to original points system, and touched up paint. The few blemishes were minor dings and scratches. The paint is beautiful factory torch red and in great overall shape. All chrome is in good condition. I have not done enough research to know if this is a numbers matching car or not, nor do I expect it to bring in the 30k plus range as a numbers car in the shape would command. It is however numbers correct with 292 V8 with correct 3 speed fordomatic transmission. Car runs and drives out wonderfully! Does not have factory hard top and soft top has a few small tears as pictures will show. I believe a good upholstery shop could easily fix them. As I mentioned earlier I am not the original owner of the car, but please feel free to ask any questions. I will do my best to answer. Please do not bid unless you plan to purchase. $500 deposit due within 48 hours of auction close. Vehicle sold AS IS where is no warranty expressed or implied. Car is for sale locally and I reserve right to end auction at any time.

George W. Bush's 2009 Ford F-150 fizzles with $300,000 bid at Barrett-Jackson [UPDATE: w/video]Sun, 20 Jan 2013
Despite some truly impassioned pleading from Jay Leno himself - including calling on Arizona's notoriously Republican-rich voters to beat the $600,000 level set the last time Leno sold a vehicle for this particular charity... in California - bidding for George Bush's 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck stalled at $300,000.
All proceeds will be sent to the Fisher House Foundation, so at least it's $300K going to a good cause. Feel free to check out the live image gallery above, which includes shots showing Leno's skills helming the auction, and read through the official auction description below.
*UPDATE: Video of the auction and Leno's prods to the crowd for more money can now be seen below.
Ford evaluating new Fiesta RS?Wed, 08 Jan 2014
Word coming in from across the pond has it that Ford is working on developing the business case to create a new Fiesta RS. The development is encouraged by the extremely positive reception the existing Fiesta ST has garnered to date, and the emergence of the above-pictured Fiesta RS WRC rally car, but it'll take more than goodwill to make a more extreme version a reality.
According to Auto Express, a new roadgoing Fiesta RS would almost certainly be based closely on the ST version, albeit with some vital differences. Its 1.6-liter turbo four would be increased from 180 horsepower to somewhere around 230 hp, and that powertrain would be accompanied by lightweight alloys inside blistered wheel arches, a stripped-out interior and possibly lightweight bodywork.
The vehicle's approval would reportedly require a strong business case in Europe, and not just in the UK where Ford hot hatches traditionally enjoy a strong following. It's unclear whether the Fiesta RS would potentially make the transatlantic voyage to American showrooms, but between it and the larger Focus RS, hopefully the Blue Oval wouldn't leave its home market out of the action altogether.
Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickupSat, 08 Mar 2014
Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.
