1977 Ford Ranchero GT, Automatic, Air Conditioning, 351 "Windsor" V8. This car is fast and will lay out some rubber. It isn't terribly loud but has a nice rumble with it's dual exhaust.

I bought this car from a teenager that had removed all the smog components and air conditioning and put on aftermarket parts but, then couldn't get it registered or smogged again. I bought it just for fun while my regular daily driver was having major repairs. I ended up doing some major repairs to this.

It does need some work to make it the $10-$15,000 car it could be. The headliner is split and needs repaired/replaced, I replaced the air conditioning components but, it had a leak, put sealer in haven't put new refrigerant in it again yet, the threading on the seats has broken and separated, it has been painted from its original powder blue and the paint is peeling in places mostly around the hood area however, I have done a bunch of work to it and it is running great and passed smog 4/24/2013.

New radiator, water pump, thermostat, front disc brakes, rotors and master cylinder, rear brakes have lots of tread and the tires have pretty good tread all the way around. It has a full size spare tire behind the passenger seat. I replaced the air conditioning components, smog pump and components. It has had a recent oil change and tune up with platinum plugs and synthetic oil. It is running great.

I think El Caminos might be a little more popular but, there seems to be more of them too. Check it out, fair priced, decent Rancheros are scarce.

Less than 100,000 original miles! About 96,000 right now! Clear title, registered to February 2014. Drive it away at the end of this auction!

Buy it today, use it for your Christmas shopping.

Toyota Camry, Honda Civic inventories mounting as US automakers make inroads

Thu, 11 Jul 2013

Two of the hottest-selling cars in America aren't quite as hot as they used to be. The Toyota Camry and Honda Civic are both seeing dealer supplies increase in the face of renewed competition from the much-improved Detroit Three.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the Camry's dealer inventory is 15 days higher than its seasonal average, while the Civic is 25 days above average. Things aren't expected to get better for Toyota and Honda, as RBC Capital Markets analyst Joseph Spak marked the two Japanese offerings as "at risk for reduced output."
The Detroit Three, meanwhile, are seeing supplies dwindle as demand increases, especially for the Ford Fusion, which has seen an 18-percent increase in 2013 sales, and the Chevrolet Cruze, which was second only to the Camry in June 2013 sales.

2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

You might not be interested in owning a subcompact (B-segment) hatchback for $20,000. Let's be clear from the get go here: there are any number of reasonable arguments for staying away from the highest-content versions of these small cars. Ford's player in the B-segment arena is the newly updated 2014 Fiesta, and the Titanium trim represents the most luxurious instantiation of the model. We recently were loaned a Fiesta Titanium for a week, whose final sticker price hit $20,390, with navigation being the only standalone option added to the bottom line. By way of comparison, the most basic version of the all new, one-segment-up Mazda3 hatchback costs $19,740 with delivery and destination accounted for, and no options added on.
Hold on to that thought for a moment, we'll get back to it.

BMW V8-powered Ford Model A is the definition of Hot Rod

Thu, 20 Jun 2013

Today, hotrodding has a pretty staid definition. Take one classic American car, add one classic American V8, sprinkle with tire smoke and you pretty much have every hot rod to roll out of a shop in the last 40 years. Mike Borroughs knows it wasn't always this way. Once upon a time, getting your bucket to go faster meant grabbing whatever parts were lazing about the yard, bolting them together with a bit of ingenuity and laughing your way down the quarter mile. It's in that spirit that Burroughs built his 1928 Ford Model A.
Rather than turn to the tired flathead or the common Chevrolet small block, Burroughs plucked a 4.0-liter V8 from a 1995 BMW 7 Series. With 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the engine has no trouble shuffling the old A around town. He had to build a custom chassis to get everything to cooperate, but the result is a 1,500-pound heathen that looks built to harass dry lake beds. You can check it out in the video below. Be warned, the soundtrack by Hanni el Khatib may not be safe for work - awesomeness of this caliber rarely is.
