Up for sale is my baby! Its a 91 Ford Mustang LX Convertible. Its been repainted with the factory Strawberry Red color. It was brought down to bare metal and primed and painted. The bumpers were taken off and sprayed as well. All of the emblems are new too and are Ford OEM. Paint cost right at 6K. Interior seats were custom wrapped as well as the door panels. Stock they came fabric. The seats are in great shape. I had a Cobra R hood painted to match. The Cobra R hood is by Cervini's.

The top is brand new, installed back at the beginning of the summer. It is an Electron Convertible Top, one of the best aftermarket brands! There are NO rips, tears, holes, or splitting seams.

5.0 Motor - replaced the stock top end with a Trick Flow Street Heat 350HP kit. Trickflow heads, stage 2 cam, intake, rockers and Billet Oil Kit. I have Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers from the cats back, the car still has an emissions pump and high-flow cats. Your laws in your state can dictate what you decide to do. I installed a BBK 75mm throttle body. Once I installed that it created a clearance issue with the hood and thats the main reason for the Cobra R hood. Has a full MSD Ignition system. The MSD has a box that has been installed and mounted in the fender, it also has a MSD distributor, MSD plugs and wires. There is a PA High Output Alternator (the ignition needs it)! Has the Optima battery for starting. even on the coldest days. I have always ran 93 Octane or higher in this car. Car currently has BBK Shorty Headers, running 30lb fuel injectors and has a 255 fuel pump to feed this beast!

I have installed a Fluidyne Aluminum radiator and I've been running a 180 thermostat. Last summer I had the car out in multiple 100+ degree days. Car has no problems keeping cool. I don't do a lot of city driving, no sitting around at lights, if you will be doing a lot of that type of driving, you may want to consider putting electric fans on it. There is a BBK cold air intake.

The suspension has Ford Lowering springs, BBK Caster and Camber kit and new KYB shocks and struts. I also put in a Ford Racing Aluminum Driveshaft.

RAM clutch in the tranny, it grabs real hard. Car hasn't been beat on. Had 355 gears installed and The Hurst Shifter. No problems with the rear. Currently running 245/50/16 Nitto's on the rear and 225/50/16 on the front.

The heater core was changed out last year, Has new door lock actuators, front power window motors. Brakes are about a year old and are still like new. I put in an Alpine radio that you can plug your Iphone into and there is a Rockford Fosgate amp in the trunk. Speakers are aftermarket too. I just installed Ultra Clear Headlight and Marker Kit with the Ultra White Headlights.

A $500 deposit will be due within 24 hours after auctions ends. The rest will be due within 7 days and/or the car being picked up or shipped. Please have cash or have financing already arraanged before bidding. It is the buyers responsibility to arrange and pay for shipping. I can meet shippers pretty much anytime.

I know I have left some stuff out. Please fill free to ask any and all questions before auctions ends. This is one of the nicest 5.0's that you will ever come across, but with that being said, nothing is perfect. I encourage an in person inspection. I can take any additional pictures that you may want or need.

I know I will have people want to know the reason for me selling. Truth is, I am going to find me an old Bronco to redo are buy one mostly already redone.

Good luck and happy bidding!

Ford jumps back in the water with marinized 6.2L V8

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Nameplates like the Mercury Mariner and Lincoln Navigator aside, Ford hasn't offered a marine engine in over two decades. But through a new partnership with one of the biggest names in the business, the Dearborn-based automaker is dipping its proverbial toes back in the water.
Announced yesterday at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the new partnership between Ford Component Sales and Indmar Marine Engines will see the 6.2-liter V8 from the F-150 SVT Raptor and F-Series Super Duty marinized for use in boats.
The largest privately owned inboard gasoline marine engine manufacturer in the world, Indmar has been in the business for 43 years, and figures the Ford V8 will be just what watersport enthusiasts are looking for to tow waterskiers and wakeboarders to their hearts' content.

NHTSA closes Ford F-Series Super Duty steering probe without recall

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation into 2008 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups, which was originally opened last year, has now ended without a recall. NHTSA was looking into steering failures on some 336,000 trucks.
The issue rested with the steering gear - NHTSA received five complaints of failures - which was redesigned in 2005. According to the report on the matter, investigators "found evidence of broken sector shaft gear teeth and piston damage consistent with incidents of single event overload."
NHTSA investigators, however, "found no evidence of fatigue or material property defects in any of the fractures. Analysis of complaint rates by vehicle build month showed no patterns indicating potential manufacturing quality issues and no difference before and after Ford introduced design changes to the input shaft and sector shaft seals in July 2007 to address potential leak concerns," according to the report, obtained by The Detroit News.

Ford reflects on radical Mustang concept that never reached showrooms

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

The Ford Mustang that we all know and love made major waves in the auto industry way back in 1964 by offering style and reasonable pricing with optional V8 power. Its long hood and short rear deck, combined with a low-slung and sporty cockpit, made a lasting impression in the minds of consumers and car designers alike, and its basic shape has so endured the test of time that it's still in use today.
This being the case, you may be interested to know that the first Mustang of 1964.5 wasn't actually the first Mustang at all, being preceded by a concept car that made its public debut in 1962. This concept was nothing like the car that would eventually make it into production, with a radical wedge shape and a small V4 engine sitting behind the car's two occupants, driving the rear wheels. In other words, the conceptual Mustang was pretty much the complete opposite of the production Mustang besides the name.
Ford has kindly decided go through its massive archive to bring the original Mustang concept back into the public eye. The company goes so far as to pose this question to fans of the pony car: "Should we borrow a few of these style elements for the next iteration of the Mustang?"
