Great pre war style hot rod, lots of terds out there, look around, does the world need another banana yellow roadster with tweed interior running a SBC built in 1995?? But nows the chance to get your hands on a decent pre war style roadster!
Original 29 ford roadster on new 32 chassis flathead ford with 39 box. Hate to sell her but I need to finish another car. Runs and drives well, has 8BA with 39 box and 32 rear. Chassis- New 32 rails with original 32 K member bolted in with 32 front and rear crossmember. Runs, a stock heavy 32 axles unsplit bones stock 32 4cyl rear end with round flange. It needs to be replaces with a V8 rear end as the rear will make a noise as you lift the gas, I've been driving the car like this for 2 years. Has F1box installed, juice brakes, 35 wire wheels, needs rear tires but the ribbed fronts are new. Motor, 8BA that was "rebuilt" when I bought it. I got it home and took it all apart, hot tanked it and sent it to a builder to be assembled again. Early NOS ansen cam installed with adjustable lifters, new valve guides, gaskets exc. The block has hardened seats and a fresh valve job. I ran a early cover and 40 bell distributor to get the early look. The distributor was rebuilt and curved by a local legend and the car runs at 180* Heads are Harrell and so it the 3 deuce intake, runs off 1 97 the other 2 are blocked at the base, I did shave the stock pump to use with the intake. Heads are no longer made as I'm the one who sell them! Headers are 35 driveshaft style built by me (gear drive speed & custom) and are a 1 off set. Has a stupid electric fan... I hate it.... Generator rebuilt last summer. Tranny- 39 box with late gears , new clutch, pressure plate and flywheel resurfaces, tranny rebuilt by cheater carl in Milwaukee last summer, new rubber K member mount installed. Body- Body is very solid, runs the stock gas tank and only need to be patched in the rear wheel houses, someone did it and did a half ass job. Has original 1950's aftermarket folding posts and they are stock height, steering wheel is 36 ford and gauges are oil and temp! interior is minimul, I'm 6' and fit the car great. Body work is 90% finished, its in black sealer. New wiring and where the wires are exposed we used cloth wire. wiring is under the front seat as it uses a stock seat pan. I can store the car for a short time 30-60 days (?) , payment due in 7 days, no trades!!! I have a small lean on the title that will be taken care of. I do have a MN title with matching vin numbers on and its in my name. I've told the truth about the car, I would not want to buy a car from a jack ass so I wont be one! 651-485-8075 (matt) She needs some tinkering, shes a old war horse, if your looking for a streetrod this is not for you. For sale local so I may end the auction. |

Inside Ford's high-tech climate chamber
Sat, Dec 27 2014There are two ways an automaker can test its vehicles in extreme climates: it can send said vehicle around the world – from Death Valley to the Arctic Circle – in search of the harshest weather, or it can recreate those conditions in an enclosed environment. We're sure that many automakers undertake some combination of both, but in this latest video clip, Ford shows us around inside it's state-of-the-art climate chamber. At its Driveability Test Facility in Allen Park, MI – inaugurated in 2010 just across the street from the Roush Technology Center – Ford can simulate all sorts of extreme conditions. It can drop the temperature down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit or raise it up to 130, and take it up to a simulated 12,000 feet above sea level or drop it down to 280 feet below. blast it with 150-mile-per-hour winds. It can control the level of humidity, approximate the intensity of the sun and even blast the test vehicle with artificial snow, just like your favorite ski resort. The facility strikes us as an engineering feat as impressive as some of the vehicles it's used to test, but don't take our word for it – scope it out for yourself in this brief two-minute video clip, which even includes some helpful tips for winter driving this holiday season and beyond. Watch these videos of an NHRA racer's bodywork blowing off into a crowd
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Just a few months ago, fan safety at racetracks was a hot topic following the last-lap NASCAR Nationwide Series crash at Daytona that sent large pieces of racecars into the grandstands injuring 33 fans. Now, a freak incident at a National Hot Rod Association event resulted in a drag racer's bodywork flying into the crowd at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte over the weekend. The carbon-fiber body of Robert Hight's Ford Mustang funny car blew off toward the end of a run when his engine exploded, but fortunately, the two fans evaluated after the incident were later released without serious injury.
As you can see in the image above, the body flew high into the air before landing on a walkway in front of the grandstands, a bit of happenstance that likely gave most fans enough time and space to move out of the way. Scroll down to watch a couple of videos showing what happened, including one from a fan's perspective that also reveals what appears to be part of the body's metal bracing landing dangerously close to the crowd.
Top 11 Lego Technic cars to buy on Amazon in 2024
Mon, Jan 22 2024Autoblog may receive a share from purchases made via links on this page. Pricing and availability are subject to change. I recently got a birthday wish list from my 11-year-old nephew, and I couldn't help but smile when I saw “Lego Technic Cars” at the top. Lego isnÂ’t a phase, itÂ’s a lifestyle. Once a Lego fan, always a Lego fan. In fact, IÂ’d be willing to bet that many of you reading this right now have some kind of Lego vehicle in a box somewhere, or better yet, on display in your home. While theyÂ’re not necessarily cheap, getting into building Lego Technic vehicles doesnÂ’t have to bankrupt you, either, unless you go for the $400 Lamborghini right off the bat. Here are 11 of our favorite Lego Technic vehicles on Amazon, right now, ranging from an affordable $35 all the way up to $450. LEGO Technic Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Ages 9+ (544 Pieces) - $39.99 (20% off) One of my first and favorite model cars growing up was a first-gen Ford Mustang GT350, so this GT500 for under $40 is right up my alley. At 544 pieces and made for ages 9 and up, the GT500 is a considerable step up from Grave Digger but a great starter to a Technic collection nonetheless. It isnÂ’t the most accurate-looking vehicle in this list, but the AR app and the fact that it can drive make it a worthwhile purchase. $39.99 at Amazon LEGO Technic Formula E Porsche 99X Electric Ages 9+ (422 Pieces) - $49.99 Not a Ford fan? Not a problem. This Formula E Porsche 99X is the same price and better looking than the GT500. Even though there are 122 fewer pieces in this Porsche set, it has a level of detail seen in much more expensive Technic sets including numerous decals and a pull back motor. $49.99 at Amazon LEGO Technic Jeep Wrangler Ages 9+ (665 Pieces) - $54.99 This is the set I ended up going with for my nephew, not because I think it is the coolest, but because for the price, I think you get the most bang for your buck. 665 pieces is over 50% more than the comparatively priced Porsche 99X and it also scratches the nostalgia itch for me: The first-ever model vehicle I built was a yellow Jeep Wrangler Sahara. This Wrangler Rubicon has definitely had some aftermarket mods like the front winch, which makes it one of the coolest Technic sets under $60. $54.99 at Amazon LEGO Technic Monster Jam Grave Digger Ages 7+ (212 Pieces) - $34.16 If ever there was a gateway Lego Technic, this Grave Digger is it.
