We are selling our 2011 Ford Flex Titanium.  We have ordered a new 2015 Escalade and will be trading in this Vehicle in a couple months, unless a deal is reached prior to then.  The Cadillac Dealer offered us a trade in value of $24,000.00.  I have it listed at $25,000.00.  Pricing is Firm.  KBB has this vehicle valued at $25,400.00 if purchased by a private party. in "very good" condition.  Their quote does not figure the custom wheels and custom paint.  I am selling it for below market value even without figuring in the custom wheels.  Truecar.com also has this vehicle valued at $25,495.00 and considers it a Great Deal.  This is a one of a kind Flex and everyone compliments us on it.

Title is in the process of being paid off from the financing company.  We are the original owner.  There was an accident back in 2012 to the front end, and was completely repaired and fixed by Ford.  We haven't had any problems with the repairs.

Mechanical (10/10):  We have had absolutely no mechanical issues since we have owned the vehicle.  Car has been maintained regularly.  AC blows cold air.  No engine knocking.  No leaks.

Handling (10/10):  Handles perfectly.

Electronics (10/10):  Everything works.  CD Player, DVD Player, Heated Seats, Electronic Seats, Mirror Buttons, Climate Control Buttons, Radio, Navigation, Sunroof, Steering Wheel Controls

Interior Condition (8/10):  Seats are in near perfect condition.  No tears, no rips, no cracking or peeling.  The 2nd Row seats have been minimally used.  The 3rd row seats were used only a couple times.  Minimal stains and scuffs.

Exterior Condition (9/10):  Paint is in excellent condition with only surface scratches in areas.  No dents or dings.  Wheels are also in excellent condition.  The wind deflector on the rear passenger door is broke (it broke when it was run through a car wash).  No rust.

Engine (10/10):  Flawless.  No leaks or knocks.  Everything operates perfectly.  Never had any issues or problems.  No rust.

I have more pictures that I can e-mail you.  Ebay only lets you upload 4 pictures for free.  The car is also listed on Auto Trader and Philadelphia Craigslist.  I also created this ebay account so I could list this for free (Ebay lets you list your first 5 cars for free with a new account).  Cash or Certified Bank Check only.  Please only serious buyers.  Thanks!

F-150 just the start of Ford's aluminum plans

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Not only have we been told that the 2015 Ford F-150 is tougher, more durable and up to 700 pounds lighter than the current truck, Ford COO Mark Fields said it's also "CAFE-positive." That means, for the first time in the history of corporate average fuel economy standards, the F-150 would be a positive contributor on Ford's CAFE balance sheet instead of being a vehicle it needs to counterbalance with frugal offerings.
Fields' comments made at the Detroit Auto Show were among quotes from other Ford execs that confirmed the carmaker will be using aluminum for more of its vehicles. CEO Alan Mulally said it would "proliferate across our lineup," with speculation being that we'll see it applied to crossover and sport utility models first, since they'll benefit the most. Even gaining the massive scale of using aluminum on the world's best selling vehicle for its first effort - on average, the company sells two times as many F-150s in a single day as Land Rover sells of its aluminum Range Rover in a month - Ford will be looking to further spread the cost of its five-year development investment in aluminum technology. And that should mean better handling and fuel economy for those of us who don't need to wear hardhats at the office.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Review

Thu, Feb 26 2015

"It's just a V6 Mustang." That phrase, so often spoken with derision and disdain, has haunted owners of Ford's more affordable and economical pony car since roughly April of 1964. Even after Dearborn finally paid some attention to its entry-level muscle car by eliminating telltale V6 features – the company fit dual exhausts in place of the single-exit pipe in 2011, negating the budget offering's biggest visual giveaway – the car was still hard pressed to shake its reputation as a hairdresser's car and rental fleet queen. For the Mustang's 50th year in service, Ford went back to the drawing board, we think with the distinct goal of eliminating the stigma of the non-V8 Mustang. While the V6 is still being offered (your local Avis and Enterprise lots wouldn't be the same without them), it's best to think of the new, four-cylinder, turbocharged Mustang EcoBoost as the entry-level model. But will the addition of forced induction – from an engine that will see action in the upcoming, enthusiast-centric Focus RS, no less – be enough to appease those pony car fans that believe that only Mustangs with eight cylinders are worthy of the galloping stallion badge? After a week at the helm, we certainly think it is. The new Mustang's looks have been covered ad nauseam. Chances are good that you either love the fastback styling, or you think the original pony car now looks a lot like a Fusion Coupe. We'll ignore the bigger styling remarks for the 2015 Mustang, and instead, focus on what's done right with the EcoBoost model. Like the V6 before it, certain boxes are correctly ticked. Dual exhausts? Check. 18-inch alloys? Check. (Our EcoBoost Premium model even shares its wheels with the base GT). HID headlamps? Check. Up front, there's a surprisingly meaty chin spoiler while the muscular lines of the 'Stang's long hood tie in nicely with the fastback shape, which terminates in a neat rear spoiler. There's even a body-colored diffuser at the back, between the chromed exhaust tips. The bottom line is, unless you're a true Mustang aficionado, you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference between the turbocharged car and its 435-horsepower brother. Simply sitting in the redesigned cabin isn't enough to give the EcoBoost away, either. The leather-trimmed seats (standard on the Premium trim) are cozy and supportive, with plenty of bolstering to help keep both driver and passenger in place while the 'Stang exhibits its newly enhanced cornering abilities.

NHTSA opens investigation into Ford Explorer PI brakes

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

This year more than most, it's pleasant when we can string together a few days without word of an automaker or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announcing a bunch of new recalls. It's seemingly been a little quiet on this front lately (barring a spider-related Suzuki issue revealed early today), but now we have word of the government safety agency opening a Preliminary Evaluation into the 2013 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor, a probe that could potentially affect an estimated 20,000 vehicles.
The issue being investigated concerns failures of the front brake hose on the vehicle that show "small splits in the hoses near the body side ferrule of the hose assembly," according to the agency, and the issue could result in longer stopping distances. The feds have reports of 13 malfunctions affecting 11 Explorer units. However, it's important to note that all of the incidents come from a single, unnamed metropolitan police fleet that operates 46 of them. According to The Detroit News, the failures generally took place between December and July.
NHTSA is investigating further to find if this is a more widespread issue than just this one fleet. Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker confirmed to us, "We are cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation, as we always do." Scroll down to read the agency's report.
