1966 FORD FAIRLANE FAST BACK HARD TOP:
I did not decode the vin so is it a GT I can't say for sure never bothered me either way. If you have the desire to decode what it is or isn't feel free. What I can say. The body is very nice. The blue is dark almost looks black at times. Presents very well and going through the floors trunk and body I would say the mileage seems to me to be correct for the car. Mileage may go up as long as the sun shines we may take her out for a scoot or two. The car seems to leak nothing at all and drives really nice. What is new as of this current season. Starter / alternator/ battery/ plugs and wires/ all fluids/ ignition set up/ has the Pertronix set up cap and rotor/ I also have a spare Pertronix set up goes with. Air cleaner fuel filter / flam thrower coil./ thermostat housing and 160 degree stat/ never runs hot. New badges fairlane 500 on sides and ford letters front and back. Door handles are a little dull have new passenger side. That chrome alone was 460 dollars from MAC Antique Auto. Bumpers and grill look exceptional. Car is mild pin striped (see video) Really sets her off. Tires and rims are exceptional. Has some new suspension components up front. Also spare set of chrome rims very nice, minus the tires. Everything works: cigarette lighter, dome lights, heat, wipers, except horn. Interior is very clean only the drivers seat has a rip (see video). Trunk is very nice no issues, has trunk mat. Carpet looks new as does the back seat. dual exhaust all the way back. Sounds really nice. Car is not going to snap your neck or win any drag races. It's a small block two barrel car. Gas mileage is amazing.
Only faults would be: Has a pretty high idle on cold starts but when she warms up it kicks right down. It's a two barrel carb, Car is screaming for a polished performer intake and street Avenger Holley . Automatic shifter on floor: when in park you sometimes have to back it up from the park position a hair to start. Maybe neutral switch. Drivers window all the way up is slightly off on the rear edge. THIS IS SMALL STUFF WHICH NEVER BOTHERED ME OR MY WIFE. CAR LOOKS KILLER, BODY IS REALLY NICE. WE ALWAYS GET THUMBS UP OR COMPLIMENTS. SO WILL YOU.
AGAIN RESERVE FOR THIS CAR IS VERY FAIR. IF THE CAR SELLS LOCAL I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION UNLESS RESERVE IS MET AUCTION WILL RUN TO THE END. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ TO THE END AND FOR LOOKING AT THIS CAR. I AM LISTING A 1954 GASSER BELAIR 1972 GTO I'M LETTING THESE GO FOR I'D LIKE TO FIND SOMETHING CUSTOM OR CHOPPED. MAYBE A STREET ROD FASTBACK MUSTANG OR 60'S CAMARO. KINDA LIKE TO HAVE SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Ford to add more than 2,000 jobs in Kansas City
Thu, 02 May 2013Continued high demand for the Ford F-150, along with the addition of the all-new Transit series of commercial vehicles, has led Ford to announce that it will add over 2,000 jobs at its Kansas City Assembly Plant. At the time of the announcement, the plant boasts 2,450 hourly employees working on two shifts. All told, Ford will invest $1.1 billion in the Kansas City plant to expand truck production and begin producing the Transit series.
According to the automaker, fullsize truck sales are up 19 percent through April of 2013, leading to an additional 900 workers and a third shift of production for the F-150. Production of the Transit series will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, requiring an additional 1,100 workers. In addition, Ford estimates that a total of 18,000 jobs will be created by suppliers to its Kansas City plant to support the additional vehicle production.

Detroit automakers keep their masks on to keep the factories running
Tue, Oct 27 2020United Auto Workers members leave the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Warren Truck Plant in May. Fiat Chrysler along with rivals Ford and General Motors Co., restarted the assembly lines after several weeks of coronavirus lockdown. (AP)  DETROIT — When the coronavirus pandemic slammed the United States in March, the Detroit Three automakers shut their plants and brought their North American vehicle production to an unprecedented cold stop. Now, four months after a slow and sometimes bumpy restart in May, many General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles factories are working at close to full speed, chasing a stronger-than-expected recovery in sales. So far, none of the Detroit Three has had a major COVID-19 outbreak since restarting production, even as the coronavirus is surging in Midwestern and Southern communities outside factory walls. "We have people testing positive, but it's not affecting operations," said Ford global manufacturing chief Gary Johnson. Keeping the pandemic at bay has pushed the automakers and 156,000 U.S. factory employees represented by the United Auto Workers into unfamiliar work routines and extraordinary levels of cooperation among the rival automakers that will have to be sustained for months to come. For automakers, the automakers' COVID response has been as much about instilling new habits as relying on new technology. Workers log their symptoms, or lack of them, into smartphone apps and walk past temperature scanners to get to their work stations. But company and union executives said masks, along with physical distancing, are the key to keeping assembly lines rolling. "The mask is the foundation" of protecting workers on the job, said Johnson. Complaints about masks Autoworkers are accustomed to wearing protective gear such as shatterproof glasses and gloves. Masks that cover the mouth and nose, however, were not standard equipment on auto assembly lines, and were a tough sell at first. "The biggest complaint is wearing a mask," United Auto Workers President Rory Gamble told Reuters. "A lot of our members perform physical tasks. Wearing the mask inhibits breathing." Beyond that, Gamble said, masks and distancing make it harder for workers to have conversations on the job or socialize during breaks. "ThatÂ’s pretty much out the window, and it makes for a longer day," he said. Masks make it harder for co-workers to read each other's expressions — often crucial in the noisy environment of a car plant.
US Ford Focus RS to be imported from Europe
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Rumors about the forthcoming Ford Focus RS are flourishing into what sounds like a very impressive new hot hatch. The latest scuttlebutt gives the first indication about when we might see a few of these fast Focuses on roads here in the US.
Unnamed insiders reportedly confirmed to The Truth About Cars that Ford plans to launch the Focus RS in the US in 2016. However, getting one might not be so easy - the boosted powertrain means the car would likely need to be imported from Europe. That's likely going to keep the total number available in the US rather low. The sources estimate a price tag that's a bit more expensive than the top Focus ST3, which starts around $28,500, plus $825 destination.
It seems that a pretty potent package comes for all of that cash, though. The Focus RS reportedly uses a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making between 325 and 350 horsepower, with a torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system to get that muscle to the road. The test mules also wear more aggressive front and rear fascias, dual exhaust tips, larger brakes and sticky tires. It sounds like a great formula on top of the already enjoyable Focus ST.
