2003 Ford F-150 Xlt Extended Cab Pickup 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars

Condition: Overall the truck is in good mechanical shape. Other than a low idle, which I had adjusted, I have had no mechanical issues. The truck starts right up, runs nice, and drives straight. New parts within last 15 months: front rotors, brakes, brake hoses, wheel bearings, and U-Joints, two pulleys and one new caliper. The interior consists of grey cloth, with no excessive use or damage. There are some stitches on the rear bench and a stain on the carpet. You can see them both in the photos. The keyless entry does not work. There are no leaks!
Features: The truck has oversize tires with 75 percent life remaining, cold-air intake, and a bull-bar with fog lights attached. The fog lights work, but were not 'professionally' done- meaning the wire makes its way into the cab. I purchased the vehicle from Bill Walsh Ford in March of 2012. Use: I've used the truck for moving, and for going fishing off of the typical hardball roads. It has seen less than 20,000 miles under my ownership. Overall: This truck has not failed me- It can be used as a great work truck or daily driver. I have receipts (paperwork) for all things done. If you have any questions or would like to see the vehicle, we can work something out. Just send me a message. |

Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.
Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
Ford demonstrates Mustang's new Line Lock burnout feature
Tue, 22 Apr 2014Been saving your pennies for a 2015 Ford Mustang? Put in a few extra shifts or some overtime? Got a great down payment ready? Well, however much you saved for your new pony car, start saving more - you'll need the extra money to spend on tires.
That's because the Mustang will come with a system called Line Lock, which can lock the front brakes electronically, allowing drivers to perform big, dumb, smoky burnouts without moving so much as an inch. It's sort of like launch control, only the average driver might actually use it.
Now, line locks aren't uncommon, particularly in drag racing. Usually, a flip of the switch locks the front brakes. The Mustang, besides offering the system from the factory which is unique in and of itself, looks a bit more involved.
