Ford F100 1963 Camper Special Long Bed F-100 63 Hot Rod Rat Rod Resto Rod on 2040-cars
Capistrano Beach, California, United States
Selling out beloved F100 "Camper Special" (8' long bed), we are the third owners and i have meticulously gone through the truck to make it reliable. About 6K miles on a rebuilt 302, 100 miles on a rebuilt Motorcraft Carb, Edelbrock Air intake, all new brakes, Just had the tires rotated, new $1,200 exhaust with shorty headers, straight pipe out the rear with no catalytic converter (Smog Exempt & it sounds great), New Header Exhaust manifold gaskets, New Valve Cover gaskets, New spark plugs, Upgraded to larger more reliable Chevy distributor, fresh oil change w/ synthetic mobil 1, newer trans cooler, converted to Automatic with Lokar Shifter and new shifter boot, new gauges on dash panel, electronic ignition (fires right up), New gas filler hose (replaced all old rotted rubber hoses on the truck), New head light bulbs, New windshield & rubber gasket, New Mopar Throttle cable. We have used this truck to just go to the beach and hardware store since we got it. We are selling it because it doesn't get used very much but always maintained and started every couple of days to keep everything lubed. I have new seat belts for it but have not installed, bench seat needs to be re-done (quoted it out at $300 for Black Vinyl) This is a great truck that needs a good home. $5,500 OBO (No Low Ballers Please) this truck is worth it.

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name
Thu, 07 Aug 2014
The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
Time to catch up with Jay Leno's Garage, including his Lamborghini Espada restoration
Tue, Dec 23 2014If you're already jealous of the time, effort and money that Jay Leno can devote to his massive car collection, prepare to get a little greener with envy with this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. Instead of the usual format of discussing a model for about ten minutes and then taking it out for a test drive, this week Leno gives viewers on a tour of over a dozen projects concurrently happening in his stable. The breadth of the vehicles shown and the things being done to them run the entire span of the automotive hobby. At the same time, Jay's shop is working on just a simple restoration of his 1969 Lamborghini Espada (pictured), and at the other side of the building, the team is rebuilding a wood-bodied 1914 Detroit Electric from scratch. He eventually plans to slot a more modern electric drivetrain into it. If bikes are more your interest, there's a freshly completed Brough Superior just waiting for a ride, and if American models are your thing, a Ford Bronco is getting a Coyote V8 installed into it. You have some very specific tastes if you can't watch this clip and start wishing at least one of these vehicles could be in your own garage. Other than the personal projects his mechanics are working on in the shop, Jay gets to have them all, plus plenty more.
