1976 Ford F100 Supercab Longbed 2wd , Rebuilt 360 and rebuilt C6 with a shift kit and trans cooler , about 30,000 on engine and trans. (installed in 2010 when orig. 390 let go) 58,000 or 158,000 on the truck orig. dont really know but real clean for the age of it , Miles will go up as I drive it everyday , Duals with flo-masters , Edelbrock 4-barrel carb. and air cleaner , New wheels and 235/75/15" tires with about 500 miles on them , 3.00 9" rear , Rear air shocks , New custom tan bench seats and matching dash 2 years ago (1 small hole where drivers leg would be ) , New battery and cables , New starter and solonoid , New alternator , New tune-up , Fresh oil change , New u-joint in rear , New rear brake shoes , Fresh radiator flush , New belts and hoses , New air filter , Tinted windows (older tint so has some scratches), New heater core , Heat blows hot , A/C worked before engine rebuild but was not recharged after motor swap , All lights work , All new lenses , All gauges work , Get in and drive anywhere , It was completly stripped and painted inside and out 5 years ago , Paint has started to show its age so It does have fading on the roof , hood and bedrails , It has some rust in in the cab body around the drip rails and rockers but still is a good looking old truck (get thumbs up all the time) , Frame is 100% and so are the front cab mounts and floorpan , No rust in the inner fenders , radiator support or under the battery !!! , Bed has surface rust from being used but nothing through , Pioneer cd player and new door speakers , Starts right up , Doesnt smoke , Runs and drives great , The front end has had all new bushings and kingpins (including the radius arms) done so it is tight and drives straight with 0 wander.
It has the fold flat rear seat which makes it a flat metal rear deck for carrying items in the truck
Thats all the good so here is the bad if you want to call it that , Needs carpet , headliner (I have the chrome trim) , center driveshaft carrier bearing makes noise (didnt here it before the carpet was removed) , 1 side of the taigate doesnt release (I use a screwdriver to pop the release button) to open , 1 small oil drip overnight (narrowed it down to the valve covers seeping a little)

From CrabWalks at dawn to post-testing sushi: An inside look at Autoblog’s Tech of the Year Award
Thu, Dec 1 2022TROY, Mich. — On a chilly fall morning, Senior Editor John Snyder rolled into a sleepy suburban park tucked away next to a cemetery a few miles north of Detroit. Driving diagonally — CrabWalking — in the GMC Hummer EV, he made quite the entrance as he maneuvered across the parking lot to the bemusement of Autoblog editors and a few curious park-goers up for their early morning runs. Snyder got everyoneÂ’s attention, and as we evaluate the latest wave of technologies transforming the automotive industry, pizazz matters. We added "wow factor" to our criteria for the 2022 Autoblog Technology of the Year Award, in keeping with the times. The HummerÂ’s CrabWalk feature might have won, had wowness been the only criteria, but we also scored the technologies on significance and how well they work. As it was, the Hummer finished a competitive second this year, behind FordÂ’s Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch, which make towing and hauling easier for modern truck owners. The Genesis GV60Â’s Biometrics was within striking distance in third place, bringing the facial recognition and fingerprint tech commonly used in phones to your car. For more on FordÂ’s win — its second straight Autoblog Technology of the Year Award — read Road Test Editor Zac PalmerÂ’s complete recap. Many have asked: Why do Tech of the Year? For Autoblog, itÂ’s been a point of pride for nearly a decade. In the early days it was a way to differentiate ourselves from print magazines, some of which have been giving out car of the year awards since the early days of the Cold War. With Tech of the Year, we seek to highlight the ways experiencing a vehicle is changing. It was true in 2013 and resonates even more as we head into 2023. Cars and transportation have changed more in the past decade than in arguably the previous four. At its most basic experience, driving a 1985 Buick LeSabre with a decent radio and comfy interior was not all that different from driving a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. Just a few years later, many cars had touchscreens, the internet and some means of driver assistance. Ford joins Tesla as the only two-time winner of Tech of the Year. The Blue Oval captured the award last year for its Pro Power Onboard generator. Tesla won in 2014 for its Supercharger network, and the Model S won in 2016, when we briefly gave out a “technology car” of the year award, in addition to honoring a particular feature.
Riding along in Ford's bonkers Fiesta ST Global RallyCross car [w/video]
Wed, 28 Aug 2013
The Mountune-worked Fiesta ST GRC does 0-to-60 mph in 1.9 seconds.
On any given day, and every single weekend, there's at least one parking in the country invaded by manufacturer and team trucks. The be-chromed beasts and their 53-foot trailers are slotted into rows, men and women decorate the lot with orange cones to mark the invisible tracery of a temporary track, cars get unloaded, crews fret over them. The ritual can be as beautiful as the sunrise to those with enthusiast hearts, but it's just as common.
J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.
