Here is a Chop Top 1953 Ford Truck that is an older build with newer upgrades done to it. It has about a 4 inch chop. This baby is ALL FORD!! It has a good running 351 Cleveland engine connected to a 3 speed automatic transmission. This 351 has Noisy Gears in it instead of timing chain so it sounds kind of like it has a blower. It is painted kind of a flat White exterior color with hand painted pin stripping done on the tailgate, hood and doors. The body is decent but NOT A SHOW TRUCK. There is some filler that you can tell it has but again it's not a $25,000 truck. There have been some modifications done to it. It has a 54 Model front grill. The hood opens forward and has latch pins to keep hood tight. The rear is a 9 inch Ford. The tires are 235/60/15 in front and 285/70/15 on rear. The rear has been shortened some to allow are a wider tire. The bed has is wood and has been painted black. It has a cover over the bed with the battery in the bed as well as the fuel cell. The interior is good but dated somewhat. It has bucket seats with a console in the center and a B&M shifter. The gauges have been changed to Dolphin Gauges and they all appear to work except the volt gauge. Speedo works as does gas, oil pressure and temp gauge. It has a chrome billet steering wheels. The windows rolls up and down easy. This is by no means a perfect truck but a good truck for the money.

This truck is also For Sale locally and on other sites so auction could end early. It is being sold AS IS with no warranty given or implied in anyway. Pre Sale inspections are always welcomed and encouraged so you will know exactly what you are getting. This truck is being sold with a current Georgia registration as Georgia WILL NOT issue a title on a vehicle this Georgia. Georgia was a Non title state till 1987 and does not require a title on vehicles older than that. Don't worry though cause with the paperwork I give you you can get a title in your state. Any questions please ask. Don't ask the reserve please. This truck I feel is PRICED TO SELL!!

Is that the Ford GT Le Mans racer in the background of this Forza video?

Mon, Jan 26 2015

Shortly after the reveal of the new Ford GT in Detroit a couple of weeks ago, Microsoft announced that it was putting the new American supercar on the cover of the upcoming sixth installment of the Forza Motorsport video game series. Now it has put out a video of the process of digitizing Dearborn's latest. Whether you're into Detroit steel (or carbon fiber and aluminum in this case), exotic supercars or video games, the video is worth a watch in and of itself. But our eyes were focused on something else. In the background of one shot (around the 1:49 mark) you can see a design board with renderings of what looks to be the rumored racing version of the GT – complete with reshaped air intakes, deeper side sills, a bigger rear wing and a central rear fin like you'd find on the latest LMP1 racing prototypes. It wouldn't be the first time we've caught wind of the prospect of the Blue Oval's new supercar going racing. We first heard of the plans last October, further reinforced in December with reports of the new GT coming to Detroit. And as we reported just a couple of weeks ago following the supercar's reveal, a return to Le Mans could be in the cards – which would be fortuitous timing, since next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the original GT40 scoring its landmark 1-2-3 finish in the 24-hour race.

Ford calling in 28k Edge crossovers over fuel line leak

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

A problem with the fuel line on certain examples of the Ford Edge has prompted the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to issue a recall. The issue revolves around the metal housing on the fuel line pulse damper, which was apparently improperly manufactured in the first place and is prone to crack in certain circumstances, leading to a fuel leak. And as we all know, a fuel leak is not a good thing.
The problem affects model year 2012 and 2013 Edge crossovers equipped with the 2.0-liter engine and manufactured between September 2, 2010 and April 25, 2013 - a total of 27,933 units. Although the Lincoln MKX is closely related to the Edge, since it isn't offered with the same engine (to which the problem is related), the recall does not include the premium-badged version. See the recall notice below for further details.

Ex-GM VP LaNeve takes over Lincoln ad agency

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Those of you that caught yesterday's op-ed about Lincoln will have heard already, but Mark LaNeve has taken the helm at Team Detroit. Once the North American vice president of sales, service and marketing for General Motors, LaNeve will now head up the agency that handles all of Ford advertising. LaNeve will also run the account for Lincoln. While at GM from 2001 to 2009, the exec oversaw ad campaigns like Cadillac's Breakthrough and sales initiatives like "Employee Pricing for Everyone."
He left in 2009 to join Allstate as chief marketing officer, oversaw the creation of the Mayhem ad spots and was moved into the role of VP of agency operations overseeing Allstate's 10,000 agents. He resigned from the insurer in February 2012 for personal reasons and joined Team Detroit in August 2012 as chief operating officer, in charge of satellite offices in New York and internationally. He replaces ex-CEO Cameron McNaughton, and will continue to hold the title of COO.
Lincoln is trying to get its 2013 back to rights after putting big dollar commercials for the 2013 MKZ on television then having production glitches preventing cars from getting to dealerships. With rumors of a relaunch in the works, it's no surprise LaNeve has been given the reins - and from here it looks like the brand is desperate for the kind of magic he's proved he can marshal. Perhaps he can start by calling a mulligan on the renaming exercise that gave us the hoary "Lincoln Motor Company" and go back to oh, say, "Lincoln." Then he can ask the product folks to get to work on the MKC concept...
