1991 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer Sport Utility 2-door 5.8l on 2040-cars
Bushkill, Pennsylvania, United States
I bought this beautiful Bronco from a California based dealer on May 17, 2013 with 153,961 miles on the clock. Since then I had very little pleasure to drive it as I am preoccupied by my professional job and have had little time in between to squeeze the 1,500 miles we drove it during this past summer vacation. The truck is currently being garaged in PA and waiting for you, the next happy owner. It saddens me to sell it but I am forced to do so by upcoming overseas deployment with my job. I feel that it would be unfair to list it with my words only as I owned the truck for far too short period of time and half of the miles it was driven after I purchased it were driven by my wife. -------------------------------------------- Here is the description as per the dealer I bought it from: 100% California 1991 Eddie Bauer Ford Bronco. Accident-free (please see our AutoCheck Report Below) and rust-free, with a gorgeous two-tone exterior (Candy Apple Red/Walnut), and a super clean Saddle Tan interior. We are sure this is one of the cleanest Broncos around (if not the cleanest), one that drives and handles like new. It is obvious that this beautiful Bronco was well pampered, and well taken care of by the previous owner, and WE KNOW BRONCOS BECAUSE THAT IS ALL WE SELL!!! Everything works on this beauty, and works well. All engine and transmission seals were changed along with the water pump. Previous owner did not drive it much and was his toy; he took great pride in maintaining it. From all available records, we can conclude that this is a true 153k miles vehicle. A/C blows ice cold, and there are NO OIL/FLUID LEAKS anywhere. New window weather strips were installed, to include both driver and passenger windows, as well as the rear gate window (both inner and outer strips). We encourage you to come out and inspect this vehicle and/or hire a third party for inspection*. -------------------------------------------- *I also encourage you to to come out and inspect the vehicle in person or hire a third party for inspection. All sales are final. Vehicle is sold as is where is without any warrantee expressed or implied. |

1947 Chevy rat rod pickup leaves rubber and smoke in its wake
Thu, 08 May 2014Cool comes in multiple flavors. One one hand, we have the sophisticated attraction of svelte design and the efficient use of power. Of course, on the other hand there is the allure of being the bad boy and going against the grain. That is part of the appeal of rat rods. Ideally, they are built without rules to an owner's specific tastes, and this widened and heavily modified 1947 Chevrolet pickup rod is a perfect example of that spirit.
Coming down the highway with a bent grille, rusted body and pouring smoke, it looks like the pickup from hell. It backs up the looks with some very impressive mechanicals too. Owner Troy Gubser says that the truck packs a Ford Power Stroke diesel with to 42 pounds of boost that runs out of 8-inch exhaust stacks at the back. He claims it managed 505 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque on the dyno. To harness all that power, this hot rod has a ZF five-speed manual gearbox with a ceramic clutch and short-throw shifter. Plus, it has cool little features like a doorbell on the tailgate that operates an air horn.
You might not expect a truck like this to actually be useful, but it has a fifth wheel coupling to haul an RV around drag races and car shows. The air suspension also probably keeps the ride fairly comfy when Gubser wants it to be. Scroll down to check out this beastly rat rod pickup and watch it engage in some diesel drag racing. Warning, there is some NSFW language.
Riding along in Ford's bonkers Fiesta ST Global RallyCross car [w/video]
Wed, 28 Aug 2013
The Mountune-worked Fiesta ST GRC does 0-to-60 mph in 1.9 seconds.
On any given day, and every single weekend, there's at least one parking in the country invaded by manufacturer and team trucks. The be-chromed beasts and their 53-foot trailers are slotted into rows, men and women decorate the lot with orange cones to mark the invisible tracery of a temporary track, cars get unloaded, crews fret over them. The ritual can be as beautiful as the sunrise to those with enthusiast hearts, but it's just as common.
Reflecting on the Ford GT on its 10-year anniversary
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Ten years ago, during the bright-eyed enthusiasm of the early 2000s and before the collective automotive industry did its best Titanic impression, we had the Ford GT. An everyman's supercar like there'd never been (remember, this was before 638-horsepower Corvettes were a thing), the GT arrived with a supercharged, 5.4-liter V8 that produced 550 horsepower and graced this retro-styled rocket with an easy, sub-four-second sprint to 60 miles per hour.
Equal to the GT's performance were its looks. Inspired by the GT40 racers that dominated Le Mans and bested Ferrari in the 1960s, the sleek, low, almost-reptilian look of the GT was the absolute pinnacle of the retro styling that so defined the early 2000s.
Crank and Piston put together a video celebrating the ten-year-old GT, arguing that Ford is a bit too busy with the next-gen Mustang, which turns 50 next week, to do it themselves. In the short clip, there is gratuitous engine noise and supercharger whine, not to mention scenes of the white-on-red GT prowling the deserts and streets of Dubai. It's a bit short, but very nicely shot. Scroll down, have a look and be sure to turn up those speakers before getting started.
