1978 Ford Bronco Ranger Xlt Full Size 4x4 on 2040-cars
Charlottesville, Virginia, United States
Up for sale is my beautiful 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT. She's my daily driver and has served me well but its time to pass her on to a new owner. No Rust, never cut and garage kept up until this winter. Not abused, adult owned and maintained. I am the 3rd owner. She's lived her whole life in Central VA where she currently resides. I also painted the front and rear bumpers, the grille and the headlight trim with easily removed PlastiDip. They have perfect chrome underneath. I just like the cut of her jib with the black accents. THE GOOD: Newer BFG All Terrains 33X12.50X15 on Aluminum Outlaw Style wheels New Starter New Power Steering Pump New Master Cylinder New Power Brake Pump New Front Driver Side Caliper New New Front Rotors New Brake Pads front and rear New Warn Manual Hubs New Sony Head CD Unit with Bluetooth & Remote Control New Front Sway Bar Links New Stabilizer Bushings New Plugs & Fresh Oil Change Full Tank of Gas Spare inside the truck makes for a sweet exterior profile and no rust on the tailgate. THE BAD: Gas gauge recently (literally, this last fill up) not registering fuel(I think the float got hung up) Front Carpet has some glue residue from the velcro I used to secure the mats. Could use new weather stripping around front windows. THE UGLY:
She's not perfect with a few tiny paint chips here and there. |

Toyota Camry, Honda Civic inventories mounting as US automakers make inroads
Thu, 11 Jul 2013Two of the hottest-selling cars in America aren't quite as hot as they used to be. The Toyota Camry and Honda Civic are both seeing dealer supplies increase in the face of renewed competition from the much-improved Detroit Three.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the Camry's dealer inventory is 15 days higher than its seasonal average, while the Civic is 25 days above average. Things aren't expected to get better for Toyota and Honda, as RBC Capital Markets analyst Joseph Spak marked the two Japanese offerings as "at risk for reduced output."
The Detroit Three, meanwhile, are seeing supplies dwindle as demand increases, especially for the Ford Fusion, which has seen an 18-percent increase in 2013 sales, and the Chevrolet Cruze, which was second only to the Camry in June 2013 sales.
Mustang Cobra Jet prototype garners $200k for charity at Barrett-Jackson
Wed, 02 Oct 2013A few weeks ago we brought you news of a one-off Mustang Cobra Jet that Ford was donating to charity. The car was set to be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Now that auction has taken place, bringing in an impressive $200,000 for MS research.
That's a lot of zeros for a Mustang, much less one you can't even drive on the street. But the unique pony car, bearing serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1, packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, competition gearbox, wheelie bar, roll cage... all you could want, in short, in a turn-key drag racer. And all that for a good cause.
Project Ugly Horse: Part V
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The Slippery Slope
I've had a healthy appreciation for cars that stop since one truly unfortunate incident with a runaway 1971 Lincoln Continental.
It's funny how quickly a party can turn from, "We're all having blast" to "What happened to the front of the house, and how many stitches do you think this is going to take?" Standing in a Mustang salvage shop in Kodak, Tennessee, I couldn't help but feel I had strayed into the latter territory with Ugly Horse. There was a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 plucked from a rear-ended Cobra sitting off to my left. The shelves were lined with second-hand Roush and SVT components galore, but I couldn't stop staring at a set of rotors with the approximate diameter of my chest.
