This is a 1981 not an 1980 Ferrari 512 BBi vin #
ZFFJA09B000038713. It's likely one of the lowest mileage and the best early injected Boxers in the world. I would
not be saying this if I did not spend a good amount of years owning and inspecting these beautiful, last of the
hand built Ferraris. Scaglieti was hired by the Ferrari factory to hand build these great mid-engined super cars of
the 70's and 80's. The panels were put onto wooden bucks and hammered to shape by very talented craftsman. No
Ferrari has gotten built this way since the Boxer went out of production in 1984.
The car being offered here is truly a time warp car! It has just 1600 miles. It's the 5th injected Boxer build.
This is an 1981 production year car. A classic color combination of Rosso Chiaro with black boxer trim. Beautiful
tan interior with the Daytona style seats and black inserts. The car was a Borgata Casino featured show car. There
is a one inch thick well organized folder on its history and origin. You will find an incredible wealth of
information like the original bill of sale, letters and telegrams from the first owner and Ferrari SPA. Certificate
of origin, copies of checks to Ferrari through Luigi Chinetti, payment certificates, importation and freight
documents, receipts from Classic Coach, Importation Tag with Pallet number and destination report and so on. The
DOT releases are part of that paper work. Classic Coach out of NJ did the DOT conversion. The car also comes with
every thing it came from the factory, including an original hard to find sales brochure. The original quartz clock
tag. These materials are in concourse condition. Please refer to the pictures of these materials. The car has had
some minor paint work over the years, but still retains most of it's original paint. The car had an engine out
service about 8 years ago so it's due for a major service. The car runs and drives absolutely incredible! Cold A/C.
It retains it's original interior, dash leather and stereo equipment all in mint condition. This car has never been
restored! It is truly a mint condition car, as it should be with having just 1600 miles. This is a museum quality
Boxer. If you ever wanted a Boxer that has not been molested or brought back to life after years of driving, this
may be the car to own. I looked at so many cars, some were excellent examples alright, but none came close to this
car's quality. Remember a car is only original once. The mid-engined flat 12 cylinder engined Ferraris are one of
my favorite Ferrari designs and is a memorable experience every time you drive one! The car must be seen in person,
as pictures do not do it justice. The mid-engined Ferraris are red hot these days. I believe Boxers have a bright
future ahead and should continue to climb in value. Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.

Hamilton wins in Singapore as Vettel crashes out from pole
Sun, Sep 17 2017SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Lewis Hamilton took a huge stride toward his fourth Formula One title on Sunday by winning an incident-packed Singapore Grand Prix after Ferrari title rival Sebastian Vettel crashed out at the start. The Mercedes driver now has a 28-point cushion over the German with six of the 20 races remaining. Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo, who also emerged from the opening lap carnage unscathed, was second for the third year in a row with Finland's Valtteri Bottas completing the podium for Mercedes. "God blessed me today for sure," said Hamilton, who set a lap record on his way to a third win in a row, as he spoke from the podium on a night where everything fell into his lap. "I came here today really thinking it was about damage limitation, and we've come out ahead. So I'm very grateful," he said later. "To come to a track that was potentially our weakest circuit, and come away with a win like this and those points, it's really such a fortunate scenario... so I definitely have a skip in my step." The Briton cashed in after Vettel, Ferrari team mate Kimi Raikkonen and Red Bull's front row contender Max Verstappen smashed into each other as they raced off the wet starting grid and into the first corner. Raikkonen had made a storming start from fourth, Vettel a less impressive one from pole position while Verstappen went for the middle ground and was caught in a Ferrari sandwich as they converged. The stewards summoned all three and decided no driver was predominantly to blame. BITTER BLOW The first race to be hit by rain in the decade that Singapore has hosted Formula One had started in treacherous conditions, puddles gleaming in the floodlights, after a formation lap behind the safety car. With Hamilton starting fifth, everything looked set for Vettel to retake the overall lead that he had surrendered only two weeks earlier at Monza in Italy. And then it all went wrong, the collision with Raikkonen punching a hole in the side of Vettel's car before he spun into the wall at turn three. "It's bitter but it's done," said the German, a four times Singapore GP winner, whose retirement ended a run of 18 successive points finishes and left him with a mountain to climb. "Championship-wise it's a big step forward," recognized Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff. "The quickest car and the quickest driver were out within a minute into the race and that can happen all the time.
Ferrari fined 50,000 euros after Kimi Raikkonen runs over mechanic
Mon, Apr 9 2018MANAMA, Bahrain — Ferrari was fined 50,000 euros ($61,385) on Sunday after one of its Formula One mechanics was hit by Kimi Raikkonen's car and suffered a broken leg during a Bahrain Grand Prix pitstop. Raikkonen, who had been in third place, was told to stop immediately and retired in the pitlane while teammate Sebastian Vettel went on to win. At an IndyCar race in Phoenix over the weekend, meanwhile, Alexander Rossi and Sebastien Bourdais both also were penalized when they made contact with their mechanics. Ferrari said the mechanic on the left rear wheel, named only as Francesco, had been taken to hospital with a suspected shin bone and fibula fracture. He was knocked over as the Finn was wrongly given the signal to leave with only three tires replaced and the other still to be removed. "I go when the light is green. I don't see what happens behind and unfortunately he got hurt," said Raikkonen, the 2007 world champion. "My job is to go when the light says so. Hopefully, he's OK." The Finn was left sitting in his car for a while before stepping out while the mechanics focused on their stricken team mate on the floor. Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne wished the mechanic a speedy recovery in his post-race statement. "I am sorry for Kimi who could certainly have finished on the podium," he added. It was the second time Ferrari had been penalized for an unsafe release over the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend. It was fined 5,000 euros after Raikkonen was sent out of the pits with a loose wheel in Friday practice. Race stewards said that in Sunday's incident the car was released "in a manner endangering team personnel and causing injury." Race Recap: At the Abu Dhabi grand prix, the caravan chases a mirage
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Both championships have been claimed this year, with Sebastian Vettel taking the Driver Championship and Infiniti Red Bull Racing the Constructor's. But there's no skunk rule in Formula One, so the last three races of the schedule are going on as scheduled.
Abu Dhabi was the latest venue, and what the Yas Marina Circuit has lacked in racing excitement, it has more than made up for in drama. It's where Lewis Hamilton always does well and should have won but for an engine blow-up. That lead to Kimi Räikkönen taking the first win of his return, and giving Lotus its first win. It's where a championship was decided when Fernando Alonso was stuck behind Vitaly Petrov and Timo Glock and couldn't put up a fight against Vettel. And this year, it was where Mark Webber again out-qualified his Red Bull teammate and grabbed pole, just three rounds away from retirement.
He was followed by Vettel, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas pair of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, the unstoppable Nico Hülkenberg in the first Sauber in fifth, Romain Grosjean in the first Lotus, Felipe Massa in the first Ferrari, Sergio Perez in the McLaren, Daniel Ricciardo in the Toro Rosso and Alonso in the second Ferrari in tenth. Tenth.
