I have for sale a very nice 2003 Chevy Trailblazer LS. This vehicle has been a one owner car and has never been in an accident.  Never smoked in, very clean interior. Outside is white, inside is a charcoal grey cloth. Some of the features: roof rack, rear wiper, alloy wheels, ABS, power windows, power locks, power steering, AM/FM/CD stereo, dual zone AC and blows COLD! Engine is a V6 and runs like a top. Towing package; Transmission shifts smoothly, no mechanical problems known. No leaks, no drips. Oil has been changed every 5,000 miles.

I purchased this car from the city of Walterboro, SC and it had been used since new as a county car for an executive. It is in good shape and has 183,xxx miles on it. I am the second owner, but have only owned it for a few days. Originally purchased it to pull a boat, but have decided against the boat, so I don't need this vehicle after all. Drives and rides good; very comfortable for 5.

This vehicle would make an awesome back to school car, college car, second car for the family, or just about anything else.

 Here's the bad stuff:
- needs two back tires. Front tread is good, but back tires are going to need replacement
- small dent on the front right fender at the crease line - no paint damage, just a minor dent
- Console lid needs to be replaced
- Check engine light is on. Planning to go to AutoZone to get it checked to see what the code is.

There is no reserve on this auction.  I also have it for sale locally, so I may end this auction if it sells locally prior to the end of the auction period.  Mileage will not go up significantly, but may go up a little.  This is not my daily driver.

PLEASE NOTE:  This sale is as is only, so please ask any and all questions prior to bidding.

Officially Official: Chevrolet replaces Daewoo name in Korea

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
