This is our 2000 Chevy Tracker it has lots of options for a Tracker.    It has a CLEAN CARFAX.We've owned it for about 9 years (we are the 3rd owners). We just took it off the road because we purchased a larger vehicle to travel more. It has never been abused as it was my wife's car. It is GREAT in the snow! It's never left us stranded. It still averages 22 mpg around town and RUNS EXCELLENT. We recently replaced the rear brakes, drums, wheel cylinders, lines, hose, etc.and yes the parking brake does work. The front brakes have lots of life left in them. The 4 WD and the over drive transmission work 100%. The engine does not use any oil between the 3000 mile changes. The tires are in very good shape. The heat AND A/C work as they should. The A/C compressor was replaced a year ago. The base plate on the front DOES NOT go with the car. The rocker panels are rusted, small dent in the right rear door (parking lot), usual scratches, rust, etc. All the doors open and close as good as new.  The rr tire is getting low on tread(see photo)
but you can swap it with the spare which is like new.The check engine light comes on but I was able to clear it to pass nys inspection. It in no way effects the running/mileage. All the lights work,so does the radio. It has NO water leaks (see interior) Clean it up and it should be good to go for a while. Winter is coming! Please look at the photos and ask questions.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
