Here is a real project truck that has bunches of potential and lots of spare parts. This is a 1951 Chevrolet Suburban with a 350 Turbo transmission and a clean title. There is no engine so you can drop in whatever you would like. The front clip has been replaced with what looks like a Camaro front suspension. There are all kinds of spare parts including two spare front fenders with liners, two rear fenders, two spare doors, two front bumper valances, one hard to find rear valance, the hood is NOS. I'm pretty sure all of the interior and exterior window trim is here. I also have both left and right back slide window mechanisms with most of the stainless trim. Most all of the sheet metal is pretty solid, you can see pretty well in the photos. There is a pretty large dent in the right rear fender, seen in the photo but you do have a spare, and both running boards have some rot. We also have all of the headliner bows and most if not all of the dash trim. Check out the original heater box!! The rear end is a late model 10 bolt Chevy rear end but I don't know the condition of it other than to say it is free, the fuel tank is rear mounted and already installed but the condition is unknown. It still has drum brakes all the way around. I have the original front split seat and one back seat, see photos. For someone that wants a good solid restoration project this is ideal, it's really solid and most of the hard to find parts are already here.

2013 Chevy COPO Camaro announced with two new engines and manual option
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Chevrolet is following up the 2012 COPO Camaro with another limited run of the drag-strip-ready production car for 2013. Ditching the superchargers, the 2013 COPO Camaro can only be equipped with one of three naturally aspirated V8 engines, and other new features include the option of a manual transmission, new front springs, some minor styling changes and a lower starting price of $86,000. All cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro.
Returning for 2013 is the 427-cubic-inch V8 producing 425 horsepower, but the new engines include a 325-hp 350-CID V8 and a 375-hp 396-CID V8. Buyers can select to purchase all three engines, and each will be matched with the sequence number of that car; the track-only COPO cars will not have vehicle identification numbers and can't be registered for street use.
Chevrolet is also offering unique enthusiast-specific options such as a COPO Build Book and the opportunity for owners to help assemble their car's engine at the Chevrolet Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.
Automakers score 8 out of top 20 most-watched ads on YouTube [w/videos]
Fri, 14 Dec 2012Who would have ever thought there'd be a day where people are able to skip television commercials only to go to websites to watch them later? Such is the joy of a DVR and YouTube. AdWeek tabulated the 20 most-watched ads on YouTube, and found that nine were car-related including eight coming from automakers.
Volkswagen continued its Star Wars theme with two ads in the top 20, including the highest-ranking car commercial The Bark Side spot at number three with almost 18 million views, which doesn't even have a single car in it. Some of our favorites are from Chrysler with Clint Eastwood in It's Halftime in America and House Arrest with Charlie Sheen for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Chevrolet, Honda, Audi and Toyota were the other automakers in the top 20, but we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention one of the coolest ads on the list, the Hot Wheels corkscrew jump.
Of all the car videos, only the Fiat ad wasn't played during a Super Bowl. Check out all eight videos - in order - after the jump. Nike took the top spot with its My Time is Now ad that has been seen online more than 20 million times with Pepsi's Uncle Drew posted up in the runner-up; some of the other videos include four Old Spice commercials and an ad in which Snoop Dogg is pedaling Hot Pockets.
Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs
Sun, 01 Dec 2013
The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
