I have for sale a 08 Chevrolet crew cab 4wd short bed with an allison automatic transmission and a BAD 6.6 duramax diesel pickup. I purchased this truck in a Inoperable sale from a bank as a Repo! I put a battery in the truck and it does turn over and did start, but Knocked Badly, so I immediately shut it off. The truck is blue in color and it has gray cloth interior. The body is good condition, other than a rock chip place on both bottoms of the front fenders and there are a few dings in the drivers side bedside. (pics). The interior is in good condition, other than the edge of the drivers seat is torn and the edge of the console, there is also a torn seam in the left rear seat, and the steering wheel has been wrapped in black electrical tape. It has air, cruise, and tilt, windows and locks, etc. The tires are 285 and are good but mounted on three steal wheels and one chrome one and no center caps. I Repeat! The truck Needs the engine Replaced or at least Rebuilt. It is Not drivable and will need to be transported! Since I have never driven the truck I don't have any more details about the truck than I have listed. So it will be AS-IS Where Is! The bed has never had a gooseneck hitch. The truck has 142K miles on it. Since I am a licensed dealer Indiana residence will be responsible for 7% IN sales tax and all other states as of July 1st 2014 will be responsible for your city and state sales tax. If you have any questions or would like to come and inspect the truck please feel free to call or text me at (812)614-8323 Do Not Bid if you do not have full intentions on completing the entire deal. I am listing the truck very specificly so not to waste your time, so please do not waste mine. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping and arrangements. Although I will assist your shipper in loading since the truck does not run. Thank You!

Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
