History

This pickup has had one driver since new, It was used by my brother in-law, a project manager for a construction outfit, to commute between construction sites in the New England area. Typically this commuting would be driving empty, or hauling some construction tools in the back like air compressors or nail guns. Originally it was leased to the Construction company but when the lease was up it was purchased by my brother in-law and he continued to use it daily. The reason for sale is moving up to a crew cab pickup.

Condition
Over all condition is excellent, The gray/black Cloth interior is clean and smoke free as it has never been smoked in. It has been used to occasionally haul a couple of yellow lab dogs, and their hair sticks to absolutely everything as you can see in some of the pictures, but this hair does vacuum up fine.  The truck does not smell like dog inside, it smells fine.  All of the Glass is good with no cracks. The interior panels, floor, and dash are all as they should be.  The Exterior is also in excellent condition, the white paint shines just like it should. There may be some small dings or imperfections in the body if you look really closely, but nothing you wouldn't expect for truck of this age.
Tires are about half tread, plenty of life remaining in them for now.
Mechanically the truck is sound. The Engine/transmission/rear end/brakes/4x4 all function as they should without any strange noises or anything like that.
Overall its a well cared for pickup, with regular oil changes and routine maintenance.

Features
4x4, automatic, V8 engine. It has the WT package which is basically the bare bones options package, rubber floors, cloth seats, but it does have A/C, cruise control, and power windows and locks.  The Cruise control as well as the power windows and locks were added by the dealership, they are not factory options, but they were added properly and function as they should.  It does have a trailer hitch and the associated wiring, and has towed a small trailer twice that we can think of.  Also comes with a decent aluminum toolbox as shown in the pictures.

Inspection
The pickup is available for inspection near West Kingston Rhode Island, please use the contact seller link to arrange a time to inspect and take it for a drive.  It would be best to do this during the evening or weekend.

Shipping and Payment
There is a $250 deposit to be made via paypal within 48 hours. We would prefer if the buyer were to pick the truck up in person and pay the balance with cash or certified check/money order from a bank we can verify, but if you need to have the truck shipped/delivered to you, we will do what we can to help on this end.  Shipping/Delivery is of course ultimately the buyers responsibility, and payment is due before the truck leaves.  I'll accept personal check as well, but I need at least 11 days after receiving a personal check before the vehicle leaves.  The truck has a Clear Rhode Island title.  Also the pickup should be good to drive pretty much anywhere if you choose to fly in and drive it home.  The nearest airport is Providence (PVD), its about a half hour away.

What if you don't like it when you get here?
Well, hopefully that doesn't happen, and my feedback ratings should be assurance that the listing is accurate and descriptive of the pickup. But If you for some reason choose not to buy the pickup, we keep the $250 deposit to cover the cost of this listing etc, that is all.

2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala

Fri, 31 May 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
