2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 4x4 on 2040-cars
Osage, Iowa, United States
Up for bids is a 05 Chevy Silverado extended cab truck. Truck has 78,872 miles but may change a little as I still drive it. Truck has prior salvage title due to front end collision several years ago. Truck has been fixed by prior owner and looks and drives like a new truck. Exterior is in very good condition with a few scratches like any used vehicle. Tail gate does have a dent in the top as seen in picture but still functions properly. Interior is in perfect condition with driver and passenger power seats, power locks, keyless entry and remote start. It has a 5.3L V-8 engine that is approved for E85. Starts and runs perfect. Battery has been replaced in the last month, front brakes pads, roaders and calipers, ac compressor and belt were replaced this past summer. Probable only has 4000 miles since then. Tires and in good condition with about 40% tread left. The air bag light is on due to passenger seat sensor and engine light is on with code PO740. According to my Fleet Farm code reader the code is for torque converter circuit fault. Truck runs drives and shifts perfect so I cant believe it is anything to serious. I can be reached at 641-330-0909 if there are any questions or would like to look at it in person. Pictures do a good job of showing off the truck but it is really a great looking truck in person! |

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
