VEHICLE DESCRIPTION:

For sale is a beautiful black Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Extended Cab pickup.  This truck is equipped with the 4.8L V-8 and automatic transmission.  Optional equipment includes ICE COLD AC, hot heat, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, automatic lights, CD player with tape deck, power seats, cruise control, remote keyless entry. The condition of this truck is outstanding as the pictures clearly show.  The interior is very clean and the body looks awesome.  The paint has a beautiful deep shine and the chrome looks great.  There are absolutely no issues, it runs, shifts, drives and handles like a brand new truck.  The engine runs perfectly smooth, the transmission never misses a shift and the steering is straight and tight.  The truck has always been serviced by a licensed GM dealer in the Atlanta area and the service history will be provided to the next buyer.  The truck also has a BRAND NEW set of tires with alignment.  This is a true 1 owner vehicle and that is verifiable through the vehicle history report.  The title is clear and will be provided to the new owner at the time of purchase.  Once again, there are no issues, problems, trouble codes, stories etc.. This is a clean truck in great shape with very low documented miles.

I will gladly answer any questions or address any concerns you may have to the best of my knowledge and ability.

VEHICLE HISTORY

The truck was involved in 3 very minor collisions.  2 of which were deer hits and the damage caused was minimal.  The front grille was replaced in one incident and chrome part of the front bumper was replaced in the other incident.  I still have all parts that were replaced on the truck as well as pictures of the damage (the chrome piece has a golf-ball sized dent in it that is about 1/2 inch deep).  The third instance was a rear end collision with another vehicle during which the rear bumper was damaged (I still have that too) so the entire rear bumper assembly was replaced.  There was NEVER any sort of frame damage or anything beyond the bumper covers and front grille and, of course, there was never any sort of air-bag deployment.  The only reason they show up on the autocheck report is because insurance claims were filed for every incident.  Of course, this DOES NOT affect the title in any way, shape, or form.  It is a clear GA title.

I am also including a walkaround video of the truck, simply copy and paste it into your browser window

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
