If you want a fully custom truck done right then this is the trunk for you. $20,000+ invested and runs strong. This truck turns heads everywhere I go and is a blast to drive. I've always used mobile one synthetic oil and just recently changed the fluids in the rear also. Truck has a full c-notch that allows the truck to lay frame and rise 2 feet off the ground if you want. It has bags in the front and tractor trailer bags in the rear with crazy amounts of lift and drop. I hate to sell this truck but working on another project and really the truck just sits in my garage! Every spot on this truck has been painted the right way including door jams and under hood. Listed are some of the major additions to the truck:

- Full 9-switch controller with 3-wheel capability

- Dual battery under bed for fast lift and drop

- Compressor for air tanks is belt driven so always ready.

- Fast bag setup so can raise and drop the truck in seconds

- Cadillac Tailights and the bed/gas door/door handles are all shaved!!

- This truck will sit on the frame!!!!

Truck is not a daily driver. I would recommend replacing the clutch soon it's feeling like its on its last leg although it does drive fine( just drove 50 or so miles this weekend). Truck does have a Check

Engine light on and that is because the MAF sensor has been removed for the short ram air intake assembly. Truck has a fuel cell that is next to the batteries and under the bed of the truck. Lots of

time and money went into building this truck and the results are great. The truck sits on 20" chrome wheels that could use a good cleaning and polishing. The wheels and tires are about a year old with

no more than 3000 miles on the tires. Reserve price is low low low for this truck! Happy bidding!!!

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
