1954 Chevrolet Pickup Series 3100

If you have been looking for the perfect restoration project for this winter, here it is!  We are keeping the reserve low and the Buy It Now price realistic!
Up for bid is a very straight Chevy Short Bed Truck.  It is one of the best restoration candidates out there. This Running/Driving truck has the mechanical work done and is now ready for paint and body.
This rig is ready for someone's own frame-off restoration, time to "make it pretty".
Back in the nineties someone started to "resto" the right hand side fenders, but they didn't get to far.  They are a different color, but they are the original fenders.
The engine is in excellent running order. Truck starts right up and runs great, goes down the road and shifts right through the gears.  It has been modified and is now a 3 speed on the floor.
The original gas tank is behind the seat but another tank has been added underneath and the fill located in the truck's bed.
The brakes have been gone through as well, all new lines and drums in great shape!
New front windshield has been installed.

Those of you that know what you are looking at will see a very rewarding restoration project.
Truck has a clean, clear title and will drive on to trailer to haul to your location.

This auction includes a replacement window for the driver's side and the passenger side, the bumper cover with bracket for the front, a door handle, and the driver side door panel cover. (please see photo for the extras included)
This classic truck is for sale locally.   I reserve the right to end auction early for a local sale.

Truck is being sold "as is" with a Clean and Clear Oregon Title.
If you have any questions, please ask before the auction's end.   I will answer each question honestly and detail to the best of my ability.
There are not to many like this one...BUY IT NOW!    Thank you for your interest and Happy Bidding!

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
