Hello folks here we have a 1951 chevrolet truck titled as a 1948 the history I know about it is this. I bought it from a man in west Albuquerque he told me he got it from some small town out west here in New Mexico it had no title when he  got it but he went through all the trouble with the MVD to get it bonded, vin inspected and and a nation wide vin check after a about a year he finally got the title since it had 48 doors he had it titled as a 48 then I bought it and made some modifications

Suspension
This truck sits on a 1976 Nova sub-frame (same as Camaro) standard 10 bold GM rear end  original leaf springs with 3 inch lowering blocks has disk brakes in front new pads and smooth disks new brake master cylinder power steering and power brakes.

Engine/Trans
The motor is a Stock 350 5.7 liter V8 Came out of a 1973 Monte Carlo this was not the original motor from the car and the owner had told me the engine was replaced some time ago and had about 50,000 miles on the motor. It has had all gaskets replaced and dressed up with new finned aluminum valve covers and air cleaner has a 4 barrel Holley Carburetor stock GM aluminum intake New clear HEI distributor and headers. The transmission came out of the 76 Nova its a 350 turbo and was in very good running condition. the Odometer had about 75,000 on it or it could have been 175,000 I'm not sure if it has gone around once before but the owner told me it was the original miles on the car and the car it self was in very good shape. I've replaced the front and rear seals on it not because they were leaking but just to be on the safe side.

Body
As for the body I know the main concern is rust the cab corners are very solid I've only seen some small pin holes on the out side the inner kick panels and driver doort  are the only areas with rust driver driver side is the worse passenger has two small holes about one inch long the bed still actually has the wood and metal slats in it. I was planning on doing a C-notch in the rear but the bed was in too good of condition so I decided to leave it alone. as for the rest of the body it will need some work to get it all straight if you plan on painting and restoring I personally wanted the patina look this is a solid body to start out with for restoration.

Interior
The inside is painted a metalic silver and cobalt blue door panels and bench are wrapped in a Mexican blanket grey rug battery is in the original location and the Nova wire harness was used under the dash has the original gauges and the fuel gauge is working has new sending unit and a voltage reducer from 12 to 6 volt turn signals work 4 way flashers work dash lights work has a aftermarket set of gauges to keep an eye on water temp and oil pressure needs a head liner missing driver door garnish molding

Running Condition
This truck rides very nice easy steering and stops on time without the hard braking transmission shifts smooth. very fun ride I built it to cruise and to get me places and not for hot rodding but it will burn some rubber and get up and go I love driving it but I've got to move on to the next project carb seems to be running on the rich side but it may need to be rebuilt

Wheels
Truck rides on 14 inch stock gm wheels with 70's style bowtie moon cap and has a 1/2 inch white wall tread is in good shape has about 60% on it.

Terms And Conditions
Well folks I have described the truck to the best of my knowledge and if you have any questions feel free to e-mail me I may have missed something. also if you have less than 10 positive feedback or negative you will need to contact me before auction ends or I will delete your bid this truck is for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction early. Buyer is responsible for shipping and I will help load the truck or get it to a reasonable location for shipping. It will not be released or signed over to anyone till I have the cash in hand I do have a clean title in hand ready to go will also do a bill of sale with the title if buyer wants one but title alone should do the job its vin also matches the vin on cab. just so you know I am not a scammer. As for the bidding don't bid more than what your willing to spend don't waste my time I don't want to have to relist the truck and I don't want to give anyone negative feedback just because they don't know how to bid. all sales are final and the truck is sold on a as is basis I've described the 1951 to the best of my knowledge what you see is what you get no returns accepted it is a project truck and old so thanks for looking and if you need to ask any questions feel free to also call me at 505 400 5681 good luck and happy bidding.

Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
