Up for auction is a 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo LS. Its appears to be the frame, but not sure as I no mechanic, is what has snapped. I took two pictures of it. It is on the drivers side of car near the rear tire. It also has a few dents on the front drivers side as well, the the rear bumper sags a bit on the drivers side. I took pictures of them all. Other than those flaws, the car is operational and in working order other than the frame issue. As it is right now, it is not in a drive away ready condition. It will need to be towed or hauled out, as the rear driver tire will scrape against the fender of the car if you happen to hit a bump, turn and such.
It currently gets roughly 400 per tank of fuel on a 14 gallon tank. Only running issues is that the transmission will not shift into overdrive, and hasn't for the last two years, at full speed will run in the drive gear. You can use the overdrive gear on the transmission, but the car will not shift into it. Also on hot summer days the engine will warm a bit if going slow/ stop and go traffic conditions. Rest of time when cruising at normal speeds and such, engine temp will run around 170. There is a very small oil leak, we don't know where. We gave it oil changes about every 4000 miles give or take a couple hundred, and would loose approx. 2 quarts of oil. We never had to add oil to the car in between oil changes. We have since purchased a new car and just want to find someone who is looking for a fixer up car, a car to part out, or to do whatever you wish to do with it.

Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?
Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia
Sun, 03 Feb 2013It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
