Two owner, adult owned since new, never abused. Has only seen three Maine winters, and has minor rust. Only rust through is a very small area at the bottom of the rear fenders. Drivers side floor has been repaired. Runs, drives and shifts flawlessly. Radio has been changed to CD, I have the original cassette player and it will go with car. I have mounted 4 steel wheels and tires on car so I could have stock 17" wheels redone, they will go with car. This is the more sought after year with floor shift and analog gauges. Good heat and AC. Synthetic oil only since new. A very solid car well worth investing in.

I have driven this car all over the east coast and highway fuel economy has been 29+ MPG on cruise control. I had car equipped with trailer hitch for hauling my bike south in the winter; tows great.

Odometer has had the typical Impala resister problem fixed and reads correctly at 118,327 miles. The areas that need attention to make this car perfect are: the exterior paint looks good from a distance, but is in need of new paint job. Dash pad is faded, driver's seat shows wear, and the rear seat has a small tear as does the headliner. The other items it needs are tailpipes and windshield replacement. I will do the tailpipe and windshield repairs upon receipt of down payment if sold at the "buy it now" price, and it will have a new Maine inspection sticker put on at that time. This Impala SS can then be confidently driven to it's new home anywhere in North America. Thank you for your interest.

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]

If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.

GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015

General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.

Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
