1965  Chevy Impala SS  / 2 door coupe / Color: Artisan turquoise outside and black inside

Engine: 8 cylinders

Transmission: Automatic

Mileage:  97,200 original miles

Immaculate condition inside and out with absolutely NO RUST.  NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS.Always  garaged, never been in the snow.  I have owned the car for the last 5 years and have only driven about 2,000 miles.

After I bought the car, I took it completely apart for inspection and to check for any rust and there is absolutely none.  The car was repainted with the original color. This car is completely original except for the fender chrome trims  and new starter. I also had a new muffler installed to give it that nice muscle car sound!  I only added a tachometer and a radio (hidden in the glove compartment).

I bought a complete front disc brake system including lowering knuckle but have not installed them because I wanted to keep the car as original as possible.

Over the years I also bought some spare parts (just in case) and they (as well as the brake system) will go with the car.

Tires: Cooper Cobra Radial C/T  P225/70R15 M+S  with 98 % tread.

Wheels:  15 inch.  Original wheels.

I never thought I would sell the car, but since I am moving I cannot keep it.

The car is also for sale locally, so this listing may be withdrawn at any time.

If you need any additional information please, call me at 586-864-4709.

Thank you for looking at this listing and happy bidding.

Please note:  in the pictures showing the trunk lid, it shows like the lid is not aligned with the rear fenders. This is because when I took the pictures I did not close the trunk.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
