1965 Impala 2 door hardtop 396/425hp 4 speed M21 with 12 bolt Rear Differential. This is a great opportunity to own a Real Factory Original Special Hi-Perf 1965 Impala that is fully Documented with Protecto Plate and Factory Build Sheet. This car came from the factory with Yellow/Black Paint & Trim. It came with a 396-425hp Engine/4 Speed Trans M21. 12 Bolt Rear. This vehicle needs to be finished, however, all of the hard parts are here. I do not have the original block, but, have a replacement block to go with this car. As you can see, most of the parts that are shown in the pictures are Original to this car, starting with the Air Cleaner #6421970,Original Holley Carb #3130 Restored with original Acorn Bowels, Intake Manifold #963 nicest intake I have ever seen, Distributor # 1111100, Exhaust Manifolds #301 & # 302, Cylinder Heads #208 Square Port, Block #962 Replacement Block. Muncie Transmission #325. I have the Pulleys & Brackets, Starter #365, Alternator, Correct 8 Inch Timing Cover, Head Bolts, etc. Due to a limited number of pictures I could post, I was unable to post pictures of everything else, however, I have the original factory 7000 RPM Tach Dash, Dash Clock, Big Block Fan Shroud, 4 Speed Shifter with original carpet boot (rare), Original Bench Seat & Rear Seat, etc, etc. Needs glass, chrome & trim restored, Interior Kit with some other minor things along the way. This car will require some work to finish, however, the trunk & floor pans were professionally installed. The cowl section of this car will need to be replaced, as well as, one front fender. Alot of work has been done to the frame, undercarriage, etc. This is a great investment for someone who has the time to finish it. These documented high horse impalas are very hard to find with Protecto Plate & Build Sheet. I do have a clear title, as I have owned this car since 1992. Please ask any questions that you may have. Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green
Fri, 01 Mar 2013With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.
Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
