Beautiful 1959 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. For sale by owner. 348ci., tri-power engine. Turbo-Glide 2 speed automatic transmission. Correct Rochester Mono jet carbs. Power brakes, power steering, and power top. Dual rear antennas. Freshly rebuilt transmission. Everything original or like original. Nothing modified. Fresh, show quality paint. Top is new. New carpet & Interior. Engine compartment and under front is detailed. Car is straight. Not full of body filler. The car is located in Crystal River, Florida 34465 and can be inspected there. Mostly original bright works. Show ready Red exterior, red interior, white top. Drives excellent. The car does not have any documentation, but an inspection will show that the car is of show quality. The engine block numbers are TT 209H. The odometer reading does not reflect the original miles. The owners have driven it around 1,000 miles since owning it (1999). Always garage kept. The car has been restored but not completely by the present owner. The top motor works. All the running lights: headlamps hi/low beam, turn signal and brake lights work properly. The windshield wipers work, the illumination dash lights work, the generator light works, the oil pressure light works, the temperature and gas gauges work properly. The horn works. The speedometer works but is a little noisy. In short everything on the dash works with the exception of the clock and radio. The spare tire/rim is there, jack, and jack base. The following information was provided by the owner: This car was purchased in 1999 from Classic Corvettes and Collectibles in Tarpon Springs Florida. Originally from Arizona and sat for a long time after the owner passed. His wife never drove the car. She sold it to Classic Corvettes. Bid with confidence as we are a trusted seller here on Ebay. Pushing Back: GM expanding Chevrolet into Korea, Daewoo out

General Motors decided several years ago to begin heavily promoting Chevrolet as its global mainstream brand even in markets where its existing brands like Opel and Daewoo were a dominant force. Today, at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, GM Daewoo president Mike Arcamone announced that the Camaro would lead the way in GM's efforts to market Chevrolet in South Korea.
For now at least Chevrolet and Daewoo-branded vehicles will coexist in the Korean market. However, while we were in China last week GM officials told us that the Daewoo brand, which has been somewhat tainted by past quality issues, would eventually be phased out in favor of Chevrolet. When the new Aveo launches next year it will likely be badged as a Chevrolet even though GM Daewoo is in charge of engineering the car.
New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette
Mon, 04 Feb 2013If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.

Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
