2004 Chevy Express 3500 Extended Cargo Van / One Ton Work Van 6.0l V8 Auto on 2040-cars

Year:2004 Mileage:136000
Location:

Syracuse, New York, United States

Syracuse, New York, United States

Up for sale is a 2004 Chevy Express rear wheel extended work van with 136K miles. The van was taken off the road on 12/16/13 and is started every Monday and Thursday before I come in to work in the mornings. I have owed it for a few years and am the 2nd owner. It was used 2-4 times a week to bring building and maintenance supplies to apartments or to bring supplies to our warehouse.

-I am selling this Van locally as well and reserve the right to cancel the auction if it sells before the end date-

-Whats good about the van:
The body is in great shape (no body rust)........see pics.
Brand new brakes, rotors and wheel bearings done in June
Professionally auto detailed and maintained regularly.
All doors work.
A/C and heat work great.
Motor and transmission are strong. These vans go for 250K - 300K miles with proper care.
Never been used to tow anything.

-Whats wrong with it:
The driver seat has a good size rip in it.......see pic.
The ABS light is on - it is a sensor that costs 179.99 plus installation and does not effect the brakes at all. It was checked by Good Year recently and will pass inspection in NY state with the light on.
&
Paint is wearing off of in the inner sill of the sliding door.......see pic.

I just bough a 2013 Chevy Dually with trailer and don't need both vehicles for work.
The van books for $5600.00 in good condition on KBB and it is at least that if not in better shape.

-Payment and shipping:

-I will need 500.00 down (non refundable) payment when auction is done. The remainder can be cash in person or through PayPal.

-If the buyer decides to have the van shipped I would suggest U-ship. It has worked great for me with several vehicles. I would help with loading only - no shipping arrangements are done by me.

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.

Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.

2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.
