Year 2000 Chevrolet Express/Jayco conversion "mini-camper" van. Basic features include power brakes, power steering, and power windows, as well as power rear view mirrors and seats; AM/FM/CD player; air conditioning; two luxurious seats in the cab, and fine carpeting throughout the vehicle. In addition, it has all the amenities that you would want or need for a camping trip or an extended road trip: a couch that opens out into a double bed, TV/VCR, refrigerator, electric stove top (no oven) a small fold-down dining table, a sink, a toilet, and a microwave. The only thing that this van doesn't have is a shower. There is ample storage space in various compartments, including a small closet. The stovetop, the microwave, the toilet, and the TV/VCR have never been used. There is a large AC unit on the roof for the back section, in addition to the stock AC for the cab. This also has never been used. There is a hatch-type vent in the roof which also has its own fan. Exterior features include a trailer hitch, fog lights (currently not working), and a large exterior light which illuminates the double side doors. The van is also equipped with the "Lo-Jack" anti theft device. The van is currently registered and inspected.
This vehicle has had several new parts in the last year, in preparation for putting it up for sale. These include: all new brakes and brake lines, new battery, new muffler and tailpipe, and replacement of switches for the power mirrors, power windows, and power seats. At this time, the only damage or defects that we know about are a break in the front bumper (shown in the pics) and a 50 amp fuse that keeps blowing; so far, none of the people we have had look into this have been able to figure out why. Apparently one of the things on this fuse is the overhead interior cab lights, which currently do not work. As stated above, the fog lights do not work. We are not aware of any other problems with the van.
We are the second owner of the van. We purchased it with the intention of retiring and traveling around the country. The "Great Recession" of 2009 drastically altered those plans, and now it is time to pass it on to someone who can get some use out of it.
Payment by Paypal (for the required deposit), certified bank check, or personal check, when cleared by the bank (for the remainder of the balance). You are purchasing this vehicle "as is where is" and the sale is final, with no return option.

GM's European Opel division may eventually go all-electric
Wed, Feb 15 2017General Motors' Opel division in Europe may transform itself into an all-electric vehicle maker by 2030. Granted, a lot can happen between now and then, including a potential buyout by French automaker PSA Group. Regardless, Opel appears to view its electric future beyond the Ampera-e, which is the sister vehicle to the Chevrolet Bolt, and more like Tesla. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann indicated that focusing on electric drivetrains would be a superior strategy to expanding its EV technology while pushing forward with conventional drivetrains, says Automotive News Europe, citing comments Neumann made to German publication Manager Magazin. General Motors could make the decision to move towards an all-electric vehicle line for Opel as soon as May. Of course, that depends on whether Opel is bought out by PSA, the parent country to Peugeot and Citroen. PSA is in talks to buy General Motors' Opel and Vauxhall divisions, though government and labor representatives in Germany have expressed concerns over potential job losses from the proposed buyout, Reuters says. Regardless, GM has hinted at expanding its electric-vehicle line far beyond the Bolt, which has a 238-mile single-charge range and debuted late last year. Mary Barra, in an interview with CNET, said the Bolt's all-electric platform could be applied to a "huge range of vehicles," though wasn't specific about additional EV models. Opel first showed off its Ampera-e at the Paris Motor Show last fall. The name of the model raised some eyebrows because the Ampera badge had been previously used by Opel for the sister version of the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in. Either way, Opel is looking to take on Renault for electric-vehicle sales supremacy across the Pond. Related Video:
Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain
Sat, Aug 9 2014Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S. GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series
Thu, 31 Oct 2013During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.
