1970 El Camino SS running and driving

The guy I bought it from said it was a factory SS car, but there is no way to tell by the vin number or the title. It does have front disc brakes, a date correct 396/402 big block, it was a 4-speed car and still has the clutch pedal and floor hump.  It does not have rally gauges and is a non-Posi car. I can not tell weather it was a factory SS car or not.

The exterior is very straight and solid. It is in flat black primer. I do have the tail gate it is not on the car because it is the only piece that needs extensive body work. I have all the bed rail chrome it is not perfect but looks ok for a driver. I also have the reverse lights that go into the tail gate. The front bumper is off of a 72 chevelle. All the SS emblems are brand new

I have a brand new windshield that comes with the car, I do not have front or rear window chrome. The car needs door panels and a headliner, the headliner bows are there I do have the sun visors and other various interior pieces.

It does have a running big block 396. I drive it to work and around town some. The breaks need a little work. It has hooker headers and magnaflow mufflers. Dual exhaust X-pipe dumped at the rear end. The car sounds great. It is a non-Posi but does have brand new boxed upper and lower control arms. Head lights, tail lights, brake lights, parking lights all work. It does have a CD player with 2 10's Behring the seat, if you do not want them they can be taken out, no problem.

Great driver would make a perfect project car. Call with any additional questions 580-512-6108. Te car is for sale locally and could end at any time.

Low reserve.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.
