Up for bidding consideration is a 1966 Chevy El Camino that I have had in my garage for the past couple years pulling it out once in a while to drive. I don't have the room for it anymore so it is for sale! This car runs and drives down the road real well. The brakes stop you just fine. The 4 speed rock crusher trans shifts as it should and the 350 v8 sounds good with lots of power. The exhaust has a good roar to it. I am not sure if it is a "SS" or if someone prior has tried to clone it. The miles on the car are believed to be correct but it is 47 years old so I don't think the miles are a selling point. In no way am I calling this restored, it has flaws in the body that is usually associated with a vehicle of this age like the clear is peeling especially on the hood, there is some rust at the top of the windshield, doors, wheel lip etc... Not bad considering the year. The tires are up with plenty of tread but they are a little weather checked. Nothing to serious but just want to mention that so no one is expecting a show car. The paint must've been done in the over 20 years ago as there is a lot of flake in it. The frame is not rotted and is in good condition. The floor pans were replaced at some point. The interior will need some attention but that's not a biggie as there is a ton of parts out there for these or you can always update to a new style interior that you like. I do have a dash pad that I will include with this sale. Please look at all of the pictures and ask any questions prior to bidding. GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
2013 Chevy COPO Camaro announced with two new engines and manual option
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Chevrolet is following up the 2012 COPO Camaro with another limited run of the drag-strip-ready production car for 2013. Ditching the superchargers, the 2013 COPO Camaro can only be equipped with one of three naturally aspirated V8 engines, and other new features include the option of a manual transmission, new front springs, some minor styling changes and a lower starting price of $86,000. All cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro.
Returning for 2013 is the 427-cubic-inch V8 producing 425 horsepower, but the new engines include a 325-hp 350-CID V8 and a 375-hp 396-CID V8. Buyers can select to purchase all three engines, and each will be matched with the sequence number of that car; the track-only COPO cars will not have vehicle identification numbers and can't be registered for street use.
Chevrolet is also offering unique enthusiast-specific options such as a COPO Build Book and the opportunity for owners to help assemble their car's engine at the Chevrolet Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.
Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
