Time to get your hands on a piece of history. Nothing better represents American muscle more then the Chevrolet Corvette. Here is a fine example of that. The current owner has had this beauty in the stables for a little over 10 years. It doesn't get driven that much so it's time for somebody else to enjoy it. The numbers matching engine was completely removed and rebuilt in 2009. While the engine was out he also had the transmission completely refurbished. There are receipts in excess of $4000 for all the work that was done. Only 500 miles have been put on the car since then. All the rotors, pads and calipers have been replaced as well. While the work was done the trailing arms were inspected and are in great condition. Mechanically this Vette need nothing, just turn the key and go! The interior is very clean for its age showing little wear on the leather seats. The dash pad is not cracked and in like new condition. The door panels are all very straight. Everything works except for the a/c which more then likely just needs a re-charge from sitting so long. The glass t-tops are chrome tinted, and all the seals are good. The headlights, as you can see in the picture, are fully operational. On the outside the body is very straight. The "Classic White" paint is radiant in the sun. It does show it's age in some spots, with a few very small stress cracks on the bumpers which is typical for a car of this age. The aluminum rims are all true and sit on Goodyear Eagle's which have very little wear. I am selling this for someone locally and if you have any questions I would be happy to ask him for you. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.
Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car
Thu, 14 Feb 2013It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.
