Opportunity is now open to purchase this beautiful 1969 Corvette 427 Stingray. Sport Coupe, 390HP, 4 speed , Fathom Green. Removable tops and rear back glass give options to a nearly open to fully closed driving experience. This car has been heavily improved starting in 2005/6/7 w/receipts for all work done. Over 850 hours of labor. This is one of the last 1,050th cars built for 1969.

Drivetrain - rebuilt 427 engine. Block casting #39635512- correct for 1969. Block ID# T1201LM. Block VIN #19S7***** Matching to the correct year, assembly plant and VIN # of the car. Please view the block ID# picture as it looks like a small stamping error was made then corrected. (LW is lightly left under the LM).  Block VIN # next to it looks unmolested factory script correct and matches the car 100%. We believe that this was an honest mistake as the Block VIN # is the one that would be altered to match the car if any foulplay was attemped. The 4 speed transmission is numbers matching correct to the car. Rear axle is 3.36 ratio heavy duty positraction.
Original Rochester carb is included w/the car. Correct exhaust manifolds and new reproduction exhaust system installed. New replacement radiator/tank and much more.

Interior trim #427 - Green Vinyl. Excellent condition. Original dash, factory gauges, radio, rear view mirror. New reproduction carpet and seats.

Brake system- completely overhauled, new calipers, master cylinder, proportioning valve, hoses, lines.

Body - Original bumpers and door handles. new reproduction emblems. Fuel tank has been replaced. (No original tank sticker at this time) Reproduction mirrors. New reproduction wheels, centercaps and Firestone Wide Oval F70-15 tires. Original spare tire. Correct Fathom Green paint re-sprayed in 2006.

Overview- This car runs, drives, and brakes strong. A true piece of American history and collectable value. Extremely fun to drive and turns heads everywhere we go. You will enjoy it just as well. View all the pictures and ask any questions you may have.

Disclosures- As with most collector cars that are 44 years old, there are a few details that may need attention: Drivers side parking brake cable is sticking and should be replaced. Original clock and radio are currently not funtioning. (Not needed when listening to the 427 under the hood). Passenger side power window switch works but is a little touchy and may need a replacement.

Deposit of $1000 required via Paypal within 48 hours for winning bidder and 7 days to pay balance in full. Vehicle is sold as is and buyer is responsible for shipping. Vehicle is located in Indiana. Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala

Fri, 31 May 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
