Up for auction is a very very nice driver quality 1965 Corvette coupe. I acquired this vette about 2 months ago. I was told it has been restored aprox 15 years but has been garage kept and driven very little since its completion. It still shows extremely well and turns heads everywhere I ride it. This car hits the road great and has no mechanical problems or issues. It was recently freshened up aprox a year ago and a very nice quality detail was done.
This car has an excellent body and a very clean undercarriage. The frame, is solid with NO signs of rust or repair. The paint has held up wonderful and still shows great. It is slick and straight and is what I would consider well above driver quality with some normal wear that is to be expected from any car that has been painted 15 years and driven and enjoyed. I would still rate it an 8-8.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. With a 10 being perfect and keeping in mind I don't rate anything perfect.
Not sure what this car was born with as far as the drive train. I can tell you it has a big block rear end, high rpm tachometer, 80lb oil gauge, bigblock hood etc??? I was told it now has a 69 350/350h.p engine. It runs strong and sounds awesome through the famous sidepipes!! The car goes through all gears perfect, clutch is tight etc. No funny noises, whines or vibrations.
All of the glass, chrome, stainless, emblems, wheels etc are in excellent condition!!
The interior is very clean throughout and still shows great!
All lights, gauges horn etc work properly. The headlight doors roll up/down as good as any I've had. The wipers are the only thing I have found that have quit working since I have owned it.
This car is equipped with disc brakes, side pipes, knock off wheels, am/fm radio, wood steering wheel, and power steering
I am a licensed and bonded Virginia dealer but am not accepting any trades at this time.

GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups
Mon, 14 Oct 2013General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray
Fri, 25 Oct 2013We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
