This was one of several older cars that I purchased a couple years ago. It has been sitting out, unprotected from the elements and thieves for more than 30 years. Despite that, it is pretty complete and possibly restorable. I don't have the energy to do it so I'm passing on the opportunity to someone else. I know very little about it so I'll show you some pictures and then answer any questions you might have about it. The biggest catch to it is that it is located just outside Blanding, UT 84511. Although we're not at the end of nowhere, you can see it from it (nowhere, that is!) What that means is that it is difficult and expensive to get vehicles hauled from here. Even a minimal hauling charge will run you more than what you'll probably be able to buy the car for. So please take that into consideration before tying up a lot of my time answering your questions or bidding on it. However, if you're truly interested, I will do all I can to answer any and all questions you might have, or provide you with additional pictures as needed. The car is sold where is: as is, with no warranties expressed or implied. I can help load it; but, as far as I know, I don't even have any wheels that would fit on it, so take that into consideration as well when figuring out if you really need it. I do have it for sale locally, but once I get a bid on it, it will no longer be for sale here -- so that I don't waste your time and efforts if you're a sincere bidder. Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. 2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.

Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
