Offered is a 1971 Chevelle PROJECT car. This car is not and a Super Sport, although it is an original black on black Chevelle. It runs and drives but the brakes don't work very well. The motor is a 289 casting 454, no it is not a numbers matching sorry lol, I don't know what year the motor is. The heads are round port 781 topped with a Holley 750 (3310-3) and an Edelbrock intake, older headers with junkie exhaust stopping just at the rear axel. The car has a very nice lope at idle some kind of after market cam but no spec card. Turbo 400 shifts through the gears, 12 bolt open rear end not sure what gear. The interior is not show car prefect but it is black with buckets it looks like the bottom of the both front buckets have been recovered they don't quite match and the factory console shifter. The dash is in fair condition, head liner has some tears and wrinkles in it, the carpet is woren I think both are original. Please look the pictures over really good as this Chevelle needs body work, the frame and floor boards are solid I tried to get pictures of the underneath but they didn't come out all that good if you want to see them send me a e mail address and I will send them to you. Both quarter panels need replaced or patch panels at the very least. The trunk floor needs replaced and both wheel wells need repaired or replaced. Both ft fenders need work the passengers says 350 Malibu the drivers side is blank. Both doors open a shut good very solid, I think the rockers have been worked on some. The hood and grill look good along with the rear bumper but the ft bumper has a couple bad spots in it. The head lights, heater blower motor and gas gauge work I don't know about the dash light. Did I mention it is a black on black Chevelle with a 454 turbo 400 and a 12 bolt with original ss wheels that runs and drives just doesn't stop real well happy bidding. The Winner/Buyer of the Chevelle is to make a 500.00 deposit through pay pal with in 24 hours of the auction ending the balance is due with in 7 days of the auction ending, The buy is responsible for all shipping arrangements and cost. This car is a project and does need work but it will be an Awesome ride when it done or a great rat rod right now.

GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
