I found this 70 Chevelle Malibu in an old garage. It has been dissasembled. All of the parts are there, there are bags full of small parts and fasteners that are marked. The cars original colors are red exterior and red interior. It is a Malibu 350, with 350 auto trans. I'm not sure that the motor is original to the car. As you can see someone was planning on cloning the car and making an SS out of it. There is an SS dash, and an SS cowl induction hood that seems to be complete. Also the front brakes have been converted to disc. They also installed new front and rear sway bars. The body has been removed from the frame and sandblasteld and painted. The wheels are original and there is a set of slots with decent tires that go with the car. The front fenders look good, as you can see one or both have been replaced at some point. You can see the GM tag on the inside of one of them. The doors look decent as do the rocker panels. Someone has put in a new one piece floor pan and trunk floor. they are not completley welded in. And there is a second one piece floor pan that goes with the car. The quarter panels have been replaced. The interior is all there, it was a bench seat. There are two steering columns that come with it, they are both colum shift. There are also new inner and outer rear wheel wells, they are not installed. Also there is another radiator support, I don't think I got a pic of it. Looks to me like all the parts are there, also a SS rear bumper pad, and the bumpers are there. Deck lid looks ok. It is an original AC car and all the air cond stuff seems to be there. I may have a set of bucket seats for this car, if interested I'm sure we can get them included. Like I said there are boxes and boxes of parts for this car, like many of us the owner got started on the car and life gets busy and has lost interest in it. Seems a shame not to bring this car back to it's glory days! I hope someone out there has the time and talent to do so!

Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?
Thu, 21 Feb 2013When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.
Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
