This is my 1970 chevelle builder/project car, I have come to the realization that I simply cannot build all of the cars that I have and need to  let this one go to a good home.I dragged this car out of the woods in east tn last year, def saved it from a terrible fate. Now onto the car.....

This chevelle has a super solid frame, it has good bones so you have a great foundation to build on. I stripped down and por 15ed the front frame rails and engine cradle.I stripped the car to the bare metal the hard way, the only thing that wasnt stripped is the trunk lid.The roof is good and solid, the doors are solid with very, very minimal rust a spot about the size of a half dollar on both give or take and its far from rot through, the innerstructure has some rust but some cleaning and por 15 and should be fine, door glasses are in both doors and regulators work .

Both front fenders are doable but both need lower patches. Drivers quarter has been cut out but I have a goodmark skin I will let go with it. Passenger side quarter is workable.Trunk lid is in good shape, the car will need a trunk floor or a patch and it will need front floorpans. Rockers are super solid.Passenger quarter glass was broken out but I have a replacement that goes with it. Windshield was junk and busted but I have a stock replacement to go with it,it is just setting in place. I also have a good grill that will go with the car. If the body panels were all on and the car was down in sealer/primer it would really take shape.

Vin plate and cowl tag is in place, this was a factory green mist car. Vin and cowl tag info availible upon request. This was also a factory ac,it looks like the components are in the trunk(condensor, firewall box etc) but no compressor.

I do have availible  but is NOT included with the car the following items
very nice front and rear bumpers, rear has an ss pad, full floorpans, tail panel, goodmark ss hood, goodmark fender extensions,355 sbc engine and turbo 350.Although some items may be pictured they do NOT go with the car. If someone would like the option to purchase these items to go with the car I will surely make you a good deal.

Driveline- There is not a engine or transmission,I do have a nice built cammed 355 sbc and a pro built 350 turbo  by taylor transmissions, there is a stall convertor but I am unsure of the stall speed. The cam is one for a heavy car and the engine only has 9k miles and it very clean. This can be bought to go with the chevelle but is NOT included in the auction. The car does have a ten bolt rear end and 4 wheel drum brakes.Although the car is pictured with the engine installed, it is NOT included with the auction but can be had for additional cost. The auction is only for the body of the car, roller whatever you want to call it.

Current state of the car, I have the fenders, and doors off of the car and the shell as told  earlier is in bare metal except for the trunk lid and door jamb areas, you can see what your getting and no paint or primer to hide rust or bondo. Obviously you arent driving this home ,it will need to be trailered or towed, tires are junk so bring some good ones if your arent hauling on a trailer.

Paperwork- I bought this car with a bill of sale,I currently have someone working on getting a title to the vehicle, I do not know how long the process will take but I WILL forward the proper paperwork to the new owner providing I recieve it.Otherwise I will be selling the car the same way as I bought it,with a bill of sale. Some states dont even require a title for a vehicle this old anyways.

Payment I will accept paypal or cash, if paying the full amount in paypal please add 3 percent. I will also accept a certified bank check but the car will NOT be allowed to leave the premises till the check clears my bank. I will need a 500.00 nonrefundable deposit within 24 hours of auctions end. I will require full payment in 7 days of auctions end.

The final bid is what you pay, we do not negotiate the sales price at pickup, that has already been determined at  the auctions end. If you desire to negoitate at pickup I reserve the right to keep your deposit and relist the car.Your final bid is the sales price.

I will also consider all trades but please be realistic as I know 70 chevelles are the car to have, obviously you will need to bring it here when you pickup the chevelle. I have most of the main parts needed to build this car, perhaps we could work some sort of package deal. Some items of interest but certainly not limited to are motorhomes or nice travel trailer, turbo regals(84-87) 1000cc and up sportbikes(no old banana seats) may consider a NICE goldwing or similiar,no other cruisers I have a softail, pontoon boat or what do you have? If the car meets the reserve I will let the auction run its course.

I can be reached via email, text messaging or by calling me,I work alot of hours so if your unable to reach me on my cell, feel free to email or text me.

Please assume nothing and ask questions, this is a project and there is no possible way I can have a foolproof description of the car, it is nearly 44 years old. I welcome and encourage questions or simply come have a look. 615-238-4855 no calls after 10pm central standard time please.

Please also note that the car will be subject to local sale until the reserve is met, alot of my auctions end early so feel free to make an offer, otherwise the auction will run its course. Please dont not ask what the reserve is just bid what you think its worth to you, I assure you my reserve is very very reasonable.

Shipping the the responsibility of the buyer but I will work with shippers any way I can within reason. I may also be able to help with shipping or meeting you with the car closer to your home but the car and my expenses must be paid in full beforehand. Please note if you are paying with a cashiers check I will not release the car until it clears. We can talk about other forms of payment for a quicker solution if necessary.

Im sure there will be some internet trolls that have some smart ass remarks to say but dont waste your time, I wont respond to stupid comments or post your stupid comments or questions. To everyone else, thanks for looking.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...

Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
