1970 Chevelle SS454---Here is what I know about the car--I was told it was an original LS6 car, I have no way of knowing if this is true or not--Its what the guy told me that I got the car from-It does not have the original motor-But it does have a NOM 454-I was told it was bored 60 over-The car runs very very good-I do not have a build sheet-But the car appears to have the original rear end and I ran the numbers off the axle and they come back to a 1970 Chevelle LS5 or LS6-I have a picture of the axle # so please e-mail me and I will send you the pic-The guy told me the original motor was blown up back in the 70's-It was blown drag racing-The car still has the vintage traction bars and still has the safety axle strap on it-I have sold 3 1970 Chevelle SS cars in the past year and I believe this to be a true SS from what I have seen on the other cars I sold-Someone has put a ton of money into the resto on this car--this is what I Know---It has a turbo 400-The car was originally Forrest Green with white stripes-The previous owner painted it Cortez Silver with Black stripes-The car has no rust or bondo that I know of and is really straight-I don't know what was done to it when it was restored-But the body is really straight-The frame and floor is excellent on the car-With no rust or previous repairs that I could find-I do have a lift and took pics of the undercarriage-E-bay only allows me 24 pics but I have more-The pics on the car speak for themselves-I have driven the car only a few times-Obviously because of the weather-But it runs really good and is fast and shifts like it should-Like I said the body is really nice on the car and the stripes are painted on and cleared over-It has the non-functional cowl hood-and has the correct SS Wheels-All the chrome is new including bumpers and trim is new as are the emblems-It was restored at some point-It has a scratch on the rear quarter panel that is about an inch long-other than that the body and paint is great-I believe the grill is new also-The Interior on the car is excellent-with no rips or damage-it does not have the factory radio and has aftermarket gauges mounted below the dash(oil, water) It has the factory gauge pac but the tach isn't working-and the heater controls aren't hooked up-All things the new owner can do right in their garage-It is automatic on the floor with console-headliner is perfect as is the rear package tray-Its not cut-Door panels are perfect as is the dash and seats-All lights work as they should-and it will pass NYS inspection-We are a NYS licensed dealer-so NY residents will have to pay sales tax--I know of some decent shippers and have shipped quite a few cars-The car is in my garage. I encourage you to come and inspect the car for yourself-It is available for viewing by appointment-This auction is for serious buyers so anyone with less than 20 feedback will have their bids removed unless they contact me before bidding-Sorry but I have been hit with non-paying buyers with less than stellar feedback-I require a $1000 deposit immediately following the auction-NO EXEPTIONS-The car is listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime--Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and I will try to answer questions you may have---

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala

Fri, 31 May 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.
