Here is a nice 69 Base Chevelle that could be built to your dream car. It is a base Chevelle (307) two speed powerglide car from the factory. The color was green (now blue) with black interior. It now has a rebuilt running 396 (1972) it has been enhanced but I don't know the horse power. The powerglide has been rebuilt as well and the car does drive (nice to move it or load it on a trailer). It has two new rear quarters on the car, that were professionally installed and they look great. The doors have bubbling, see pics, (passenger side) but look good from the inside, no patches or bondo. The front quarters look great and the pictures show that. It also has a SS hood installed and is in great shape. The trunk lid is in great shape as well. The front windshield is cracked and needs replaced. The convertible top is manual and moves up and down with no problems. The car needs patch repair or replacement in the floors and trunk. The frame looks great and so do the rocker panels. Some parts come with the car and the picture shows them. The seats are there as well. The back seat has been reupholstered in black. the fronts need done. Have the title in hand, was going to finish it myself but we are relocating and don't have room for the car in the new location. The car is in Springfield, MO. Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.

Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:

GM recalls select Chevy Cruze, Sonic and Buick Verano models over airbag issue
Wed, 14 Nov 2012General Motors is recalling certain 2012 Buick Verano, Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic models due to a defect in the driver's airbag system. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag has a shorting bar which may contact two internal terminals. If that happens during a crash, the supplemental restraint may not deploy, increasing the risk of driver injury. The recall includes a total of 2,949 units.
GM will contact owners and replace the steering wheel airbag coil at no cost. At this point, it's unclear when the recall will begin, though owners may contact the automaker at 1-800-521-7300 for more information. You may also take a closer look at the full NHTSA notice below.
