Rare, Barn Find 1984 Cavalier F41 Convertible With Only 45k Miles on 2040-cars

Up for auction is a very low mileage 1984 chevrolet cavalier F41 convertible. This car was stored for several years in a barn and has very low actual miles(45,755) I recently bought this car, put a battery in it and it runs decent, however it has very old gas in it so I am sure that new gas and a tuneup would do wonders for it. It is in very good shape for a 30 year old car as you can see in the photos. It has pw, pl, ps, pb, cruise and A/C however the a/c has been disconnected. When you push the switch to put the top down, you can hear the motor running but it does not go down ( I put the top down by hand) I am sure that because of the car sitting in storage that something stuck or is unhooked. It is very easy to lower the top by hand. The top is in good shape with the exception of 1 small patch (see pic) The car is powered by a 4 cyl (I believe 2.0 liter) engine and a automatic tranny. The car starts right up, drives and stops but because it has been in storage and not driven in several years, along with the fact that the tires are very old and cracked, I strongly advise that it be trailered home and then gone through before driving it a long distance. I have lots of pictures to show how solid the body is but please keep in mind that this is a 30 year old car that has been in storage and only recently taken out of the barn. GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech
Tue, 24 Dec 2013The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.
Was the C7 Corvette cut from Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show?
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Someone was bound to receive a free 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray during the Super Bowl XLVII festivities; it just wasn't who we thought it was going to be. Despite a report back in December that superstar Beyoncé Knowles would be getting an all-new Corvette during her halftime performance, that turned out not to be the case. Joe Flacco, starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, did in fact win a Corvette for his MVP performance.
So what transpired that prevented Beyoncé from rolling on stage in the new Chevrolet? Anyone who knows isn't telling, but according to Yahoo! Autos, General Motors said that for one reason or another a deal "did not work out," and it appears to have been an eleventh-hour change. Regardless of who's to blame or what prevented this from happening, we're sure Chevy has had no problems getting attention for the C7 Corvette since it was introduced last month.

Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year.
