ALL ORIGINAL 1991 CAPRICE CLASSIC / LTZ

ONLY 2 ADULT OWNERS

UP FOR SALE IS MY DAD'S CHEVY, HIM BEING 75 AND A RETIRED MECHANIC WITH OVER 50 YEARS EXPERIENCE HAS MADE SURE SHE RUNS PERFECT.

CAR HAS BEEN PARKED 6 MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS DUE TO THE FACT THAT DAD AND MOM ARE RETIRED AND TRAVEL OVERSEAS 6 MONTHS AT A TIME. THEY DO NOT DO MUCH DRIVING ANY MORE WHEN BACK IN N.Y., THE FALL AND WINTER SEASON. THE CAR IS JUST TAKING UP SPACE IN FRONT OF MY HOME AND SOMEONE COULD REALLY GET SOME GOOD USE OUT OF IT, CAR LOOKS GREAT!

EXTERIOR HAS NO ACCIDENT REPAIRS BUT SOME RUST HAS SHOWN UP IN THE LAST YEAR OR SO, ESPECIALLY ON THE DRIVER'S REAR QUARTER WHERE IT IS EXPOSED TO THE STREET WEATHER ELEMENTS. THE REST OF THE CAR LOOKS GOOD FOR A 22 YEAR OLD CLASSIC. PAINT NOT AS SHINY AS IT SHOULD BE BUT AGAIN LOOKS GOOD FOR ITS AGE

INTERIOR IS LIKE NEW, NO SIGNS OF ANY TEARS OR ABUSE. POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS WORK PROPERLY

ODOMETER READING ON DASH IS WRONG, ACTUAL MILES ON CAR ARE 110,598. ODOMETER WAS CHANGED BY DAD BACK IN 2007 DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE EVENING ODOMETER CLUSTER LIGHTS DID NOT WORK. HE DECIDED TO CHANGE THE ENTIRE ODOMETER CLUSTER. I TRACKED DOWN THE ACTUAL MILEAGE FROM CARFAX INSPECTION READINGS. AFTER CALCULATING THE OLD AND "NEWER" ODOMETER READING, THERE IS A 65,112 MILE DIFFERENCE.

MOST RECENT REPAIRS: NEW BATTERY ABOUT A YEAR AGO, NEW ALTERNATOR AND BELT ABOUT A YEAR AGO, NEW TIRES ABOUT A YEAR AGO, OIL CHANGE LAST WEEK. ENGINE COMPARTMENT UNDER THE HOOD IS LIKE NEW, NO OIL LEAKS AND ALL NICE AND CLEAN AS NEW. THE 305 8 CYLINDER MOTORS ARE KNOWN TO RUN FOREVER, WITH A LITTLE TLC

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
