Chevrolet: Camaro Iroc-z Coupe 2-door on 2040-cars
Amsterdam, Ohio, United States
1988 IROC Z Camaro 5.7L auto, ALL ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA CAR. Incredible find, car spent it's entire life in California, for the first few years speeding up and down the 405, then put up and used sparingly. Car is all original matching numbers original panels original paint original interior. This car is not perfect, but rather in exceptional original shape. Just a bit of road rash down low on body, a couple of thin spots on hood, interior has some sun fading, and I am being very picky here with this description-look at the pictures they tell the story. Car has been serviced by a certified Chevrolet dealership, and A/C converted to R-134A and blows nice and cold, brand new battery, car has been completely gone through and runs like to day she left the showroom; tight, no rattles or creaks. The IROC's were known for their exceptional handling and this car is no different, hugs the road.

MotorWeek's 80's GM muscle coupe roundup includes Regal GN and Monte Carlo SS
Thu, Jan 29 2015Even with just four brands in the family, General Motors still represents a performance powerhouse. Between the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Camaro Z/28, Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V, The General can still deliver plenty of thrills. The 1980s, though, saw the brand go even crazier with performance. While the Camaro and Corvette were still around back in the day, GM had a number of other interesting performance offerings. The Bowtie was complemented by the long-deceased Monte Carlo SS, while the now-defunct Pontiac and Oldsmobile offered the Grand Prix and thumping 442, respectively. And Buick, which isn't short on performance with its Regal GS and Verano Turbo, offered a much more serious vehicle, in the form of the Grand National (not to mention the Darth Vader-spec GNX). MotorWeek, in its hugely entertaining retro flashbacks, looks back on these three long-lost GM performance icons, and it's just as good as you might expect. Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
