1999 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z28 CONVERTIBLE
I am pleased to offer this well presented 1999 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Convertible. As most of you know the collectability of LS1 powered Camaros are much greater than the previous LT1 powered car. This Camaro is in excellent condition with a near perfect body and nice paint. The convertible top is free of any rips, tears or holes and has a perfect heated back glass. The windshield is free of any chips, cracks or wiper marks. All of the lights and lenses are free of any cracks or broken pieces. The wheels are original correct Z28 with only slight curb rash on the right front wheel. The tires have a t least 50% tread wear remaining. Inside you will find a set of new looking bucket seats, a near perfect dash, excellent carpet and rear seats that look like they have never been used. The only fault is some wear of the driver’s door plastic (please see pictures). This Camaro drives great and with the LS1 engine is very powerful. Everything works and I could not find any issues. This is certainly a great find and very well may increase in value over the years. In my way of thinking the powertrain is worth my asking price and I will be throwing in the rest. The miles will be sold as exempt because it is more than 10 years of age. As always if you have any questions simply call or email. Remember many of our offerings are sold before the auction ends. If you wish to make an offer, call me on my personal cell at 859-533-8238. I will also allow you to retain the ebay protection. Thanks for looking.

General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012. According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving. The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted. We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods. Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later. As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
